I've actually seen this a lot. People arguing over whether it says joden or jun, and people have come to the conclusion that they are either looking at different pages, or have different versions of the book. I wouldn't know as I only have the arms and armaments book where it says brask.

Well in my copy it certainly states Hunter mentor, Joden, who preceded Cayde, the Exo. http://i.imgur.com/gDE7m4Z.jpg So whether he is named Joden or Jun, it's clear he was the previous Vanguard, who later was renamed Andal Brask, and not a human Cayde.
