Character Deleted During Error Message

Has anyone else lost a character class during this Bungie network error. I received an error code Weasel then it changed to Chicken and when I tried to sign on again, my main character class was gone!! Like it was removed or corrupted!! Bungie, please fix this. I would like my Hunter back. I spent a good amount of time on developing that character class and to have it taken is pretty bad. If I don't get my class back, I will be officially done with playing Destiny. I have never had to go through so much errors like this one. Any info would be good. I'm on PS4.

      • I really hope this doesn't happen to any of my characters If someone can get video proof of this and prove to bungie that it's an issue then maybe we can get it resolved

          • This happened to me in February 2015. I signed on one day, and I only had 2 character slots. I only play on my main character, so one of my other ones was below level 20, and the other was only wearing pre-Dark Below stuff. I lost everything on my main character, including my original Gjallarhorn. I never recovered the character, but I've somewhat recovered in general [spoiler]what I'm saying is you won't get it back, so start over, or put the game down for a few months.[/spoiler]

            • My suggestion is that you contact everyone you can find that had this happen and send a massive complaint to the company and if that doesn't work start spreading the word that this game is broken and not being fixed. Maybe losing preorders will get their attention and if all else fails see if you can contact Activision and file a complaint.

              • Gem is a good friend of mine and part of our "crew" that has played Destiny religiously since the alpha and beta days. All of us have a lot of play time into this game, even during the lulls in content and throughout the ridiculous lag and server issues that have chased a lot of people away. Gemini no joke has been one of the biggest proponents of Destiny and of Bungie...when all of us would curse these guys he would 100% defend them. Just like any of us would be, he is pretty upset at the lack of response and the now deleted post by Bungie claiming he deleted his character. There is no way that he or any of us would intentionally delete a character [i]with all of our gear, god rolled legendaries, etc.[/i]. Our group feels like we just got cut off at the legs and frankly the response (and lack thereof) is really frustrating considering the loyalty we have had for this game and the world Bungie has created here that we love. Please make this right for Gemini, Bungie. We want our boy back on his main restored to his former glory! - Droit aka D-Train

                    • Bungie really needs to address this problem, GeminiNyc is a dedicated Destiny player he's been there supporting this game from year 1 and for him to lose his main character like he did is awful. PLEASE if any guardians have had this done to them reply to this thread and support MarQ out Bitches (drop the mic)

                                  • I came back after a month off from destiny to find 2 of my 3 Characters deleted. Hundreds of hours gone. I live alone and have never given my log in information or passwords to anyone.

                                      • This is a message to everyone. if you encounter this issue, for gods sake, please record it and publish it. If you are on ps4 press the share button and then upload the entire thing to YouTube. Idk for Xbox. When we have documented proof via video format that this is happening bungie won't have any choice but to say something about it. We need to let the community know this is happening so these poor chaps can possibly get their precious characters back to them. This scares me.

                                          While it sucks for this to happen. Either you did it like bungie says or some sort of corruption occurred, it doesn't actually matter, they won't give you it back or acknowledge it. Just like with every company when something goes wrong they try and not report it. Unless this happened to thousands or millions then nothing will be done. Either remake and carry on or just move on.

                                          • All these posts and no video proof. The only video I can find in this thread is someone who recreated what happened, but no character was deleted, which aids in debunking this claim, not supporting it.

                                                • Bump - I have heard multiple reports of characters disappearing during an error code screen. It seems as though it started happening around the last hot fix and the "unplanned" maintenance they did not too long ago. I really hope they address and fix this serious issue. I also hope they either restore your character or something. I would honestly just sell my Xbox One if this happened to my main Warlock. All those hours, grinding, and lucky rng rolls just vanished. I would never wish that on my worst enemy. All that time wasted for nothing and then you have to spend another 1,500 hours just to get back on track. People say "move on" and "live with it", but that's total bullshit when it is Bungie's fault and responsibility. Then Bungie has the audacity to respond with automated, copy-and-paste responses... Like seriously? How are you going to find out about these issues when you have robots responding to serious problems?! I really hope you find justice, or whatever. Good luck!
