Randal the Vandal Grimoire Card

A grimoire card I wrote in another topic that I thought I'd post here. Figured someone might need a break from the IB and SBMM rage burning the forum. Card inspired by Randal, my original Hunter character, and the cloak of the six coyotes. I tried to make it sound like the other grimoire cards Tl;dr - Randals a bad ass
Ghost Fragment: Legends 4 Last known Ghost Transmission. //Forgotten Shore, Cosmodrome His cloak flutters in the wind as he watches the sun set from the top of the hill. In the distance, the soft sounds of ballet music drift across the water. I think he likes the music, why else stay as long as we have? As day light wanes, I watch the hunter as he looks down at his revolver, slowly loading one bullet at a time…click……click……click. Next he unshoulders his rifle, and uses the sight to stare at the first twinkling stars on the horizon and the moon that is no longer ours. I had found him in the wild all those years ago, and I knew he was the one I was looking for. He’s one of the six, a lone Coyote in the wilds, hunting…always hunting. The forgotten shore is his now. I told him we should report back to the city to let them know the area was secure. “Just a little longer” was all he replied. It is as if this moment of peace in the quiet dusk needed to be savored, remembered. I stay quiet, not quite understanding, but respecting his wishes. Hours pass, and he remains still as a statue, when the first sounds arrive. Pikes….looks like more Fallen have arrived to challenge the Coyote’s domain. The hunter stands and looks across the ancient wreckage. He spots his prey. In distinct contrast to his stoic vigil, he erupts into action as his rifle appears in his hands in a flash. 3 heartbeats…three trigger pulls…three steaming eruptions of ether. “See my friend? Nothing in the wild is ever secure” He tells me. He walks across the shore to the pikes, observing his carnage with pride. The pride of a predator, who knows his position atop the food chain. Everything he does is deliberate. More minutes pass. Maybe one day, I’ll have spent enough time with him to understand what he is thinking. The hunter finally says “Alright my friend, let’s get ou…….”. He never finishes the sentence. Had I known those would be his final words…. A nearby cave, dregs and shanks come pouring out, followed by a lone vandal. The Titan’s walls could be replaced with fallen skulls this Coyote had made. He does not hesitate. In seconds the dregs and shanks are down and the vandal firmly in his sights. Only a slight pause, and the bullet flies true to its target. In my years with this Coyote, I have seen horrors I care not to remember. I have witnessed hive rituals too terrible to speak. But on this day, I saw what true power meant. One clip, another, then another. Ammo spent, revolver discarded. Ground littered with casings as his rifle issued round after round. Grenades and rockets might as well have been pebbles from the nearby cliffs. In time, only the Coyote's knife remained. The vandal just stared. The hunter did not run. No true guardian would ever flee a vandal. In the end it was his pride that ended the Coyotes’ life. And it was my loyalty to him that would end mine. The vandal looked up at me as he stood over the hunter’s body, chittering softly. He has me in his fist now, and turns my lens towards his face. Moments before I thought I had known what the pride of a predator looked like. I was wrong, I see that now. I see what a real predator looks like as the vandal stares at me. Right before it all goes dark, I hear a faint whisper, maybe the wind, one last distinct sound……Randal //End Transmission
