Raid Idea - Ultimate Mode and a Strange Journey

This is an idea for a 3rd mode of difficulty for the Raids. Unlike other modes, this mode automatically adjusts to the current max Level and Light Cap, meaning if the max level was 50, Vault of Glass enemies would by 52 on this difficulty. Most of its other rules are similar to Hard Mode; No revives, additional mechanics for the different encounters, on top of those in Hard Mode and new Loot. [b]New Vault of Glass Mechanics:[/b] • During the initial opening of the Vault, Vex including Fanatics will spawn and rush the Party. • Confluxes will emit a field that increases the damage nearby Guardians take, each time a Vex sacrifices itself to it. • All Oracle locations are now different. • During the fight with the Templar, after he reaches 30% health, a new type of Oracle, called a Prophet of Doom will spawn. This Oracle can only be damaged by players within the field created by the Relic. • Whilst in the Gorgons maze, additional Gorgons will spawn the longer players take to get through the sequence. Additionally, all Gorgons emit a field that gives players a stacking debuff. Once they reach 3 stacks, they will have their movement speed reduced for 10 seconds. • Atheon has a few new abilities. During the Times Vengeance Phase, he will charge up a powerful blast that will wipe the Party if he is not hit by the Relics Super. At 40% he will also banish players to a new location, ancient Mercury. To return players to the fight, the rest of the Party will have to kill 2 Gatekeepers that spawn on the two sync plates. The order of the locations Atheon banishes players to is now random. [b]New Crota's End Mechanics:[/b] • If a player removes all their stacks of Weight of the Darkness, the lamp will start to detonate. • Players that do not wield a sword when they reach the other side of the bridge are inflicted with a debuff that reduces their damage for 60 seconds. Additionally, Shriekers will activate when a player starts crossing the bridge. • Swordbearers now have Solar Shields. • During the fight with the Deathsinger, room containing Ir'Yut generates a field that grants her regenerating Arc Shield. • The Sword of Crota last a shorter amount of time in the final encounter. • Crota gains a stacking buff for each second his Oversoul is active. At 5 stacks, his Darkness blasts now fire like a Shriekers blast and are much more lethal. At 10 stacks, his Sword attacks now function like the Relics super, creating a powerful Arc field. At 15 stacks, his Oversoul gains a defence bonus. [b]New King's Fall Mechanics:[/b] • During the first platforming section, some of the ships will fire at the players. • If an Adept dies, it can now buff Knights and Ogres. Knights also gain the laser vision while Ogres will leave spheres of Corrupted Light upon dying. • During the "prove you're worth" encounter, the door requires more stacks of Deathsinger's power to open. Opening the door also releases a powerful Ogre to combat the players. Additionally, players receive a Debuff that prevents them holding the same Aura for 40 seconds, meaning they must swap between the two rooms instead of staying to their own. • The Warpriest now gains additional powers as well as increased defence each time he absorbs a Monolith. After absorbing 1 Monolith, he gains the ability to teleport. After absorbing 2 Monoliths, he can tether to any nearby Taken and surround himself in a forcefield similar to a Taken Goblin's. • The Tablet of Ruin now gains power for each Orb present each time Golgoroth's Gaze is lost. Unstable Light explosions have a larger radius and will further increase in radius if the Players Super is fully charged. At 30% Golgoroth will also berserk after he has spent 30 seconds with his gaze fixated. While berserk, he will start pulsing an AOE that gradually gets bigger and bigger, damaging anyone in the lower part of the arena. If doesn't do tons of damage but it will wear players down. Additionally, when his gaze is lost, he will do a massive AOE, that will kill anyone not behind cover. • There are now different patterns depending on which sister is casting. If the left sister is casting, the platforms are activated counter clockwise, and if the right sister is casting, it goes clockwise. • During the fight with Oyrx, the platforms now need to be activated in a new order, requiring the runner to jump diagonally across the platforms before looping back. Oyrx will also slash at the area around the platforms to try and attack the players. New adds will also spawn during this fight, such as Taken Colossus. These enemies can power up, increasing their maximum health and size with each charge. Oyrx will also perform his rain of projectile attack during the add phase after he reaches 50% health. At 25%, Oyrx will also perform a giant slash attack with his sword through the whole arena. Players need to be on the two platforms used by the Daughters of Oyrx to avoid it. • The Shade of Oyrx can now use all the abilities of the Echo of Oyrx. Also, Taken Harpies will spawn with the Taken Thrall and are capable of performing a spinning drill attack. [b]A Strange Journey[/b] So I figured, seeing as how she's being all mysterious and secretive, having the Exo Stranger actually interact with the Player would help make her more relevant and hopefully help explain whatever was going on with Year 1. The Stranger could act as a limited time Event Vendor, appearing at various Social Spaces and sells gear/weapons built around the Raids. She could offer bounties for killing specific bosses at certain difficulties, finding chests, etc; All of which increase Rep for her Faction during the Event. As for Gear, the armour she sells could come with a perk called "1000 Years of Darkness", "Killing Majors/Ultras and opening chests in the Raid has a chance to drop a higher level version of this gear". [b]Final thoughts for Raid Gear[/b] In my opinion, Raid gear should come in two varieties; Normal Gear, which lets players choose between average universal and average Raid specific perks, or Hard Gear, which only gives players Raid specific perks but they are extremely powerful in those very specific situations.

  • Ok, so I've never done a raid fully till now because I've never had the time, so I don't know what each raid is like(besides Crotas End Normal which my friend and I are two manning, stuck on Crota) and I can't tell if this would make each raid impossible, but I like the sounds of this, and I think the Exo stranger selling that armor would solve a lot of bitching, so therefore I am gonna sign the petition to make this
