Just put whatever down payment the place you're pre-ordering from asks for, it's usually only $5.

No you can go into the store and pre-order as well. Best Buy hasn't been the most spectacular with giving away codes for the game from what I've heard. I'd check out Gamestop first. You can totally go to the store and still get the code though.
