taking child out of social environment which they need to learn to operate in to function normally in the rest of their lives, tendency towards indoctrination, uncontrollable education standards, poor accountability, the list goes on
more than 70% of parents who homeschool say they do so to provide "religious or moral instruction". they're basically taking their kids out of school to satisfy their own personal beliefs, putting their own needs before those of the child.
that's usually called "child abuse". there's a reason it pretty much doesn't exist in most countries.
They're not putting their needs above their child by giving them a moral system to live by. They're taking it upon themselves to make sure the kids learn right and wrong on a more intimate and accommodating setting. There's also no evidence that homeschooling makes people anti-social or lacking in skills.
Really parents talk about sex and drugs with their kids when they homeschool them? Really the only good homeschools are those that are online and are credible. If that is the kind of school OP went to I am fine with it.
