I must be naive then, because I don't understand how shining a spotlight on how boring the game typically feels could be a marketing ploy.
Not looking for an argument, I'd genuinely like to understand your perspective on this.
Its my belief they put it in there with the full knowledge the dlc was awful, that theyd had bad press after bad press. They wanted to get people talking about something other than the fact theyd just ripped off their customers again. They wanted to attract some player numbers back to the game even if only for that weekend.
They had already said there was going to be a patch that tuesday, well before theyd released the dlc, so they knew there was an opportunity to fix it pretty quickly afterwards.
Thats what i believe, call me cynical if you like. But bungie have made me that way, especially when it comes to them.
