it's a huge time consuming task for sure but what good is a 500 dev team company if not to implement really huge cool ideas?

you have a valid point but i don't think they would have the planning or left over funds that would allow them to deviate from what they are currently doing to make a weather system like the one you so beautifully described it saddens my soul but they just cant i doubt highly that it is a matter of wont or don't want to but just one of cant due to release schedules and bug fixing
