The biggest problem I have with this Forbes author is how he is limiting his scope to the solo version if the game. He has stated in other articles how he doesn't play much pvp and that he doesn't do raids for various reasons. If u look at this expansion from only that standpoint then yeah it might seem underwhelming. However if u actually play the whole game then this expansion is totally worth it. Imo

That is correct. I am referring to him as an author in general in regards to destiny. I have read many of his other articles that clearly state that he doesn't play 2/3 of this game. That's why I said that I had a problem with this author not this article. Some of his points are definitely valid however I think that it would be unwise to solely look at this one article and judge destiny too harshly coming from someone who doesn't even fully play the game. Again this is just my opinion.

How do you come to that conclusion? The three new maps added in PVP are actually quite a bit of fun but the expansion was sold to us as a story-driven extension of the existing PVE content. And I'm in the camp of people who think that participation in the Crucible shouldn't be required in a game like Destiny. It should just be the icing on the cake for those that enjoy it.

I believe that we just have a different opinions on the game then. I see this game as 3 parts. There's crucible, raid, and pve. This expansion actually tied together its pve and raid sections with an actual attempt at a story. It also expanded on its crucible maps (which were too few to begin with imo). So all 3 areas received attention with this expansion but only basing a review off of 1/3 of the game doesn't seem right. I was upset because the author bashed the story when he didn't finish it in the raid. Also imo there is no forcing ppl to do anything. The game has 3 parts. If ppl don't want to participate in 1/3 or even 2/3 (like this author) then ppl won't get the full benefit of this game. Other than the raid section (which ppl might have trouble finding consistent raiding parties) pvp is a choice just like pve. Again I just think we have different opinions as to the identity of this game is all. From what u stated earlier I could see why you could be upset.
