  • Hi POWman 93, I'm glad those steps helped you get past the MONKEY error you were seeing. Some players may not be able to follow those steps. Instead, you and others can stay up to date with this developing issue as it is being tracked here: http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/75534241/0/0

    • For xbox one users: How to Clear the Cache When Experiencing Problems Power down your console, then unplug the power cable from the back of the Xbox One. Wait for two minutes, then plug the power cable back into the back of the Xbox One, and monitor the power brick, waiting for it to cycle from a white light to an orange light, and then turn the power on. This will perform a cold restart of the system. This operation has solved a problem where, when starting a game on the Xbox One, the system would show just the initial picture page of the game, and then return to the Home screen without starting the game. This particular problem did not affect Apps on the Xbox One, but only games (downloaded or disc-based). Once this operation was performed, the Xbox One was restored to full functionality. An easier way is to hold the Xbox button on your console for 10 seconds the console will make a noise different to a normal power down. After the console is completely shut down turn it back on and that will have cleared your problem. To be able to tell if it has worked when you go to start a game it will say syncing this shows that the Xbox has remembered all saved date on your console. This information was given to me by an Xbox assistant when I had problems.

    • I can confirm that this works on the Xbox one. There are different steps involved for Xbox but it's the same end result.

      • Quit destiny completly. Turn off xb1. Unplug the power bar. Unplug the router. Take a break(5min). Plug xb1 in. Plug router in. Wait for connection to boot up. Turn on xb1. Play destiny. 80% success rate

          • Problem is worse after clearing Xbox cache and rebooting router. I think you may have stumbled upon random chance tying these together.

          • I unplugged my PS4 and my router. I waited 5 minutes turned everything back on, and after 30mins of gameplay no MONKEY business. Before I took the previous actions I got MONKEY every few minutes.

          • Restarting router, modem, and clearing system cache does not solve the problem.

                    • I killed my monkey errors by logging out of destiny, shutting down ps4 (not stand by mode) and then rebooting my internet earlier. Played patrol for an hour with no monkeys!
