I'd be willing to bet most people probably only have a 720p TV in their home.

Well you'll see games get better as time goes on. By the time these consoles are at the end of their life I wouldnt be surprised if they go beyond 1080.

It's still a pretty piss-poor justification for being "ok with" 720p but it's early in the gen. Hopefully devs will smooth out all the wrinkles in the next few years.

How is 1080P not the standard yet? You can buy a small one for a few hundred dollars...

Most people don't want a small one. I have a 32 inch that's 1080p and a 1080p monitor in my room but in the living room there's a 50 inch that's probably 720p, I don't know for sure because it's not mine.
