Well if you're using it for band practice and what not you'll probably need to mic it. Depending on the venue they would usually do that regardless.

Yeah, and i've got an SM57 do that wouldn't be an issue. It seems like it'd work pretty well, and be easy to move and useful for recording, so i'm considering it. And if i get the Orange pedal i'm basically paying $280 for the amps and an Overdrive pedal.

Yeah the built in effects are probably pretty mediocre.

I'm not too keen on effects anyway. And if i were, i've got a ridiculous amount of digital ones on Studio One, and i'll have access to pedals at my school. The overdrive sounded really nice to me on the Crush, and the footswitch for it is only like $35, and it's not even necessary.

I wouldn't have expected the overdrive on such a small amp to be anything special. I've heard good things about orange and never played one.

I mean it's not GREAT, but it had a pretty nice tone, and a good range. Apparently you can get a lot of different sounds with the different dials for gain and overdrive. I was planning on going to the music store the other day to see what he had there, but the weather made me stay inside and watch watch waking dead all day instead. I'm going to try to stop by later this week and see if there are some i can play myself. But from the demos i've watched and the reviews and specs it's possibly my top choice right now.
-
True. So what are you going to be playing on it?
-
Ibanez AF75 Hollowbody, mainly. I've also got an Ibanez Ukulele and a Dean Banjo with pickups in them that i may throw through it occasionally if i'm trying to get a cool sound for recording. And eventually i'm going to try to put some electrics in my Taylor GS Mini. But the guitar i'm getting it for is the Ibanez AF 75.
