The only reason this is happening is because some nationalist idiots want to have an independent Scottish identity/culture without even thinking about the numerous negative consequences that will come about in the future. Good luck creating an independent economy of the same prominence as the one they are currently a part of! What valuable goods will you be exporting then? Cheese? Kilts?
The only positive I can see from this is that less of the Govt's money goes on paying for the scroungers in Glasgow. We'd (The rest of the UK) be much better off without them, as long as they don't join the EU and drag everyone else down with them. They are very ungrateful and should be thankful they weren't kicked out the union sooner.

We have oil. Your argument is invalid

Edited by Mr Skeltal: 3/21/2013 7:06:33 PMYeah, for like two or three decades maybe. Everywhere in the world (except for the Middle-East) is experiencing a drop in the amount of oil extracted ever since the 50s, 60s and 70s. Demand is only going to increase for it with the emergence of the Asian-Pacific region and the amount of oil that can be extracted profitably is only going to decrease, increasing oil prices will pretty much screw over nations reliant on oil to boost their Balance of Payments. You can't be reliant on oil to solve all of your problems.

Then it wont be good for the whole of the UK when the oil runs out will it?
-
No, because the UK isn't reliant on exporting oil.
