Ready for combat? Unless you're in a forested area or another place with low visibility, you shouldn't have to worry too much about wildlife. Unless you're thinking about other people. I guess you probably are. Seriously, in a post apocalyptic scenario most people won't want to kill you. It's in everyones best interest to group up and form comunities. As for the actual question, if you aren't able to get some pre-crash raincoats or maybe some animal leather (leather is waterproof, right?) it might be best to not wear much. Heavy clothes will absorb the rain, making it harder and uncomfortable to move and make you stay cold longer after the rain stops. Your best bet is to stay dry is to hole up under something.

  • That's the GIFT theory. In real life, people are more hesitant to screw someone over due to the legitimate consequences.

  • I didn't see that. Well in that case just judge the odds of running into hostiles by the dangers of getting sick and play it by ear. If you think getting sick is worse in your scenario, then follow my previous advice. If not, then get some protection, or leave your shelter to put some distance between yourself and danger.

  • I was just wondering what you would wear while exposed to the elements (specifically rain) in a combat zone. Like, an umbrella or something.

  • How did I not think of umbrellas..... simple ones would be fairly easy to make, they allow you to stay dry... jesus, those would be perfect.
