King of the Casuals: An EZ Sleeper Build

For the longest time I shied away from what I believed to be one of the most useless and hideous Exotics in the game, that being Eternal Warrior. The reworks it underwent during Season 27 made it a salivating (yet still hideous) Exotic to build around. Enter the now. After returning to this franchise ("quit at the end of Heresy) in December, I learned we can now equip ANY ornament we own on ANY Exotic. What has been a long overdue change has led to experimentation with a variety of formally sidelined Exotics, as any good D2er knows that fashion is the true Endgame of Destiny 2, and hideous Exotics = Bad Builds. So after a quick ornament swap to HJÖRÞRIMUL (that I might embody Thor the god of Thunder) I plugged away at a build that I found incredibly fun, effective and flexible! This is the outline, followed by how to appropriately flex the build: ETERNAL WARRIOR Aspects: Storm’s Keep Touch of Thunder Fragments: Spark of Discharge Spark of Recharge Spark of Ions Flex: Spark of Beacons (if running Arc Special) Flex: Spark of Shock (if running Arc Primary) Armor & Mods Flex 4 Pieces from these sets: Last Discipline Thriving Survivor Wayward Psyche Head: Harmonic Siphon x3 or Harmonic Siphon x2+Power Preservation Arms: Bolstering Detonation; Firepower; Grenade Kickstart Chest: Arc Ammo Generation x2; Resist Legs: Absolution x2; Recup Mark: Utility Kickstart; Powerful Attraction; Reaper Kinetic: Supremacy; Praedyth's Revenge; Mountain Top Energy: Delicate Tomb; Trinity Ghoul; Cloudstrike; Undercurrent (Demo+Voltshot); Psychopomp (Rolling Storm+Synergy); Vantage Point (Stats for All+Jolting Feedback+Synergy) Power: Crux Termination (Slideshot+Explosive Light); Watchful Eye (Jolting Feedback+Synergy); Thunderlord; DARCI; Anarchy How It All Comes Together To understand how it comes together, it's important to understand what Eternal Warrior DOES DO versus what it DOES NOT DO. This was the most critical piece of information I had to research, so I'm happy to shorten anyone's search for this explanation: Eternal Warrior does NOT stack with any Weapon Surges. In fact, if you equip Surges in your legs, the game will only register the highest buff. It does NOT shorten the timeline of achieving x4 Surges by having a few equipped already. It does NOT stack with Elemental Time Dilation and extend Surge timers. So in terms of Buildcrafting Theory, what Eternal Warrior DOES do is frees your build from Surge mods. This means you don't have to pick between Kickstart Mods and Surge Mods, or run both, never really utilizing either to their fullest potential. And this is how Eternal Warrior becomes the King of the Casuals. By utilizing Siphons+Kickstart Mods+Absolution one can harvest immense amounts of Ability Energy back through orbs of power. To further enhance Ability Energy returns, one can equip the Synergy Mod in ANY Arc Legendary they have equipped. I'd honestly argue this is a demand, even alongside of the offerings of the Artifact, Spark of Discharge and Spark of Ions. The end result is endless Ionic Traces to gap abilities where your Orb generators fall short. The build is driven by gunplay and Surge uptime, yet maintains an obnoxious level of Ability Spam to boot. By tripling down on Siphon Mods, one can harvest 4.4% of their Super per orb, an easy feat with any of the aforementioned Arc Weapons. Another option is x2 Siphons with a Power Preservation Mod to feed allies their Supers, which then refeeds you yours. The rapid super generation plays into the other part of Eternal Warrior, that being constant Fists of Havoc. After it ends, you're given 30 seconds of x4 ArcSurge (+25% DPS), which then refreshes on kills. So in theory, in an ad dense activity, once Fists of Havoc ends, one can usually maintain the x4 Surge until a transition phase. The end result? Enhanced and incentivized gunplay, married to endless Ability Spam. No sacrifices demanded for either. A very casual playstyle without crazy positioning or aggression required. Balances Gunplay and Ability Spam.
