Had the urge to boot up D1 today and I’ve encountered an issue that I can’t seem to find anywhere else on the web: my Destiny 1 disc for the Xbox One no longer reads (Series X console).
I have no clue why this could be, unless Bungie or Xbox has shut down support for the original copy?
My Xbox reads all other discs perfectly fine, both Xbox One games & Blu-Ray.
My copy of D1 is the original disc, not Destiny: The Collection.
Has this game seriously been outdated? I really have to buy the base game for the 3rd time, even though I still own it & should be able to be read on this console?
Please provide some clarification on this issue.

Edited by ATdub1190: 1/19/2026 3:11:03 PMIf the console still recognizes that the disc is destiny but won't install. Download the xbox app on phone. Sign-in to your account that has your series x set as home console. Search for destiny base game click install to xbox. This may work on the xbox website too. And you may have to enable remote installing. If inserting the disc does nothing your disc is too damaged. Hi there! Have you tested the disc on another console? If the disc cannot be read by the console, it is possible that the disc is damaged and can no longer be used.
