Question: Do I need to be aligned to a particular path (ambition or resolve) to collect the founts worm?
I am planning to grind that out, but I would be livid to have the runes spawn, only to not get the drop.

I don't think so. I had tried maybe 8-10 times and the run was never there. Or at least I could never find it. A post above mentions 2 places it can spawn. I looked all over the room, on the coffins, on the pillars, etc. And it was never there. The next time I went in and didn't even do the puzzle to get the chest to spawn and the rune was there. Seems like it must be RNG because I don't think I had done anything in-between
