If I was you and looking to offer help, use the legacy fireteam option (find fireteam->legacy) or in the #Destiny2 section make a post offering to help with things. The '#fireteamfinderbetahelp' section even though it looks like a LFG tag, its not meant to be used as it even though it does.

Hmm ok ok, yea that's what I would do most of the time but the most recent I joined was just a 'headlong: time trial' mission
