only gimps have whispers turnt off old

there is no 'canon guardian' but considering we're probably the strongest guardian in lore it'd probably be a safe headcanon to assume we're a hybrid. though i would like to add: we do have canon weapons, it was confirmed in season of dawn "one of our favourite weapons" was bastion, also on our grave was ergo sum which is a sword literally gifted to us by the traveler itself; so yeah, safe to assume if we could we'd be running around with ergo sum and bastion 24/7.

  • Forgeries https://www.ishtar-collective.net/entries/forgeries?highlight=vip%232014 WHITE https://www.ishtar-collective.net/entries/white?highlight=vip%232014 Now, what do these lore entries have in common. Well, they are both Hidden Reports, the Hidden being Ikoras spy organization. Now, both of these report detail a Vip#2014. Now who may that be. Vip#2015 is Oryx. Before the events of Taken King, during the players first venture into the Moon, we discover a temple to Oryx. Now, from our Ghost dialogue iirc, No one at that point knew who Oryx was. Our knowledge of Hive History is based on the Books (or Tablets) of Sorrow which only arrived with Oryx. Meaning, Vip#2014 had to be a character who had yet to be known to the Vanguard and Hidden as a whole right before the events of Taken King. Crota was a known being, due to the events of the Great Disaster. The Black Heart and Skolas were both subjects that the Vanguard had no prior knowledge of until the Player uncovered and fought them at the behest of either Elsie or Mara Sov. What I’m getting at is that the player character, The Guardian, is an actual in lore character. The Guardian is Vip#2014. Now there is further evidence of The Guardian being an in lore character. Read the lore tabs for Hawkmoon and Gjallarhorn respectively. One details a small campfire and celebration we had with Crow, and the other details us giving the Gjallarhorn to an individual known as Randy (No, not the one with the Throwing Knife. This Randy was a New Light). Essentially, the Guardian is a character, albeit very quiet and reserved individual who very rarely does anything of their own accord. I can only think of a couple instances where the Guardian actively either disobeyed, bent, or otherwise went against or outside of Vanguard oversight. Forsaken and Beyond Light are two major examples, and the First and second Mission of the Red War actively had the Guardian work on their own.
