Edited by Magiscene: 11/11/2024 9:33:49 PMPeople have builds than can cause ignitions back to back on certain bosses like Raenicks unified so bungie in their anti fun mentality decided to apply a damage resistance to bosses when ignitions happen rapidly. They messed up and applied the patch to ALL bosses in the game effectively killing ignitions until they fix it. I would not be surprised if they plan on doing the same thing to shatter damage after the season ends. (Imo this should not even be a thing because players build into the rapid ignitions, so of course they should be rewarded with a lot of ignitions not punished. Moves like this kill build crafting idc if it’s applied to only 1 boss it still should not be a thing heck we can’t even use tether in vesper because of Raeniks lol)

Thanks, Yes that’s the build I’m using on my Titan that’s why I was curious.

Bosses gain escalating resist against ignitions up to around ~97% if they're done too quick. Theres around a 5 second window before the resist is removed, so doing 1 ignition then another back to back will ramp up resist but doing 1 waiting until the resist window ends and then doing another will be fine. Heres the Destiny2Team post about it:
We have discovered a missed patch note for Destiny 2 Update 8.1.0 regarding ignition damage versus bosses. After an initial ignition, bosses now gain progressively higher damage resistance to ignitions that occur over a short amount of time (five seconds of DR from last ignition to take place). We have identified an issue where these subsequent ignitions are doing far less damage than intended. We are planning to tune this damage resistance appropriately, and for it to only apply to the Vesper's Host dungeon boss Raneiks Unified, rather than it being game-wide. We are planning to address these issues in Update 8.1.5, planned for Mid-November. Please stay tuned for more details.
https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/1g9r7fi/re_ignition_damage_vs_bosses/

Yeah it pretty much makes weapons like dragons breath obsolete

Thanks for the info, but if it was an issue that caused DOUBLE damage, it would have been fixed withing 24 hours, or disabled till a fix could be worked on.

Translation:
We found that ignitions were working as intended, but we really hadn't been paying attention and realised that it was making a single encounter on one of our least played activities easier than it should be so decided to punish everyone for our incompetence. This would have been dealt with sooner, however we also found out from the same activity that we don't know how to code RNG either. We plan to address these once we find someone who has a greater knowledge of code than just making the 'SUM' function in Excel work and it's scheduled for sometime between 'never' and the next Blue Moon. Until then, -blam!- you all, love Bungo
Pretty much the Bungie attitude to everything that adversely affects players. 🤣. 💩 company, that needs ripping apart by Sony. My favourite bugs that haven’t been fixed :- The 7th oracle bug in The Whisper exotic mission. No timeline on a fix. Tonic Quest bug :- 35 days ongoing, acknowledged but no timeline afaik. The constant popping up of unlocking light subclasses. No idea how to fix. Does it still delete your loadouts that match that subclass if you accept the New Light Quest from Ikora? And finally the one that has ruined Solar Builds, the issue of this post, the Solar Ignitions “bug”. If Bungie did this solar ignition “bug” deliberately, as I see some people stating, and it’s taken this long to fix then it implies a dire situation at Bungie. They are clueless how to fix these problems. Maybe if they used AI to check the code for the bugs, rather than incompetent humans, then these bugs might be so prevalent. I bet that’s not even occurred to them. I don’t know if it’s even possible. But surely it would be worth a try.

Absolutely 😂😂👏👏

Edited by glitchHiker: 11/11/2024 5:04:07 PMMissed patch note my a$$. This is nowhere near the most shady thing they've done this episode. Even if it really was "missed", this has already been the most bug-filled episode/season so far hands down, they can't even get patch notes right lol
-
They labeled it as “missed” because they got caught because the nerf got applied to every boss in the game. They were hoping it would be a shadow nerf to only raeniks.

Edited by 堺市 Rinzler (PRIMARCH): 11/12/2024 10:16:35 PMJust like the EXTREMELY odd timing that with the festival of the lost, we have CONSTANT guitar errors kicking us back into orbit anytime we load into the pale heart. The only place in the WHOLE GAME we cant get into due to an "error". Unfortunately I've been around long enough to tell, that was defo intentional. How else wouls they increase playtime when we can farm for exotic class items elsewhere in less time.....
