Do your players a damn favour and fix PvP
Why should I be penalised for my teammate leaving in comp? I lose double the rank as I do gain when I win.
Just do what LITERALLY EVERY OTHER competitive game does, and remove the ability to leave mid-game. Remove the ability to switch character or return to orbit during a comp or trials match, and develop AI to take the place of players who left. Again, like many competitive games have done.
This AI feature can be used in normal PvE content too, say, if your awful servers causes someone to disconnect, and the team needs a placeholder until they can re-join. After all, nothing more infuriating than your awful servers disconnecting me or my friends at wave 47 on Legend Onslaught and not being able to rejoin.

Every competitive game i have ever played lets you leave games… On the slim chance they didn’t (which i’ve never seen) you could just close the game

I agree it's annoying AF but most matches are ok. Just gotta take the rough with the smooth 👍🏻

1 ReplyHorrible teammates are why I refuse to play pvp anymore. I’m tired of getting tatoes and afk players against sweatlords and tryhards. PvP just isn’t fun anymore due to having to sweat every game, and abilities and special weapons keep getting targeted to have their uptime nuked resulting in a primary only sandbox which is just boring. Plus having no protection when my teammates leave is just dumb.

Make the experience good and people will stay. And I don't mean dumb it further down - if thats even possible at this point, but balance it. High risk - high reward! And honor skill.

27 RepliesGonna get -blam!- on for this, but they need to just remove PVP. It's a toxic wasteland anyway. Comparable to Sea of Thieves arena. The percentage of toxicity reports that originate from it passes even the percentage of players that DON'T play PVP.

removing the ability to leave mid game isn't going to stop people leaving if they're on pc they'll just alt+f4 or use task manager and on console they'll just close the application down and play something else

I’m not sure if removing the ability to leave mid game is going to help all that much. If you’re playing survival and the guy is forced to play, he will just drop a 0.0, feed your opponent special ammo and super. I think if you are in a 2v3 though, the loss from comp shouldn’t be as severe. Hopefully that helps some of the problem.

2 RepliesI usually don’t complain about the game, but something is wrong. 3/4 of my last games were 2v3’s and 4/4 of my last games, I was head and shoulders above my two teammates, in terms of skill. I have never been lobby-balanced so hard my entire life, and I am not exaggerating.

Removing the ability to leave does nothing lol. They'll just alt+f4 and see ya later. And you wanna add a bot in for when a player leaves? Lmao. It sucks that you lose points, but these "fixes" would be like squirting a housefire with a water gun.

There's two options unfortunately 1. Stop playing PvP 2. Continue playing PvP while knowing the fact that Bungie never ever gonna fix it or make it more enjoyable

Controller are over powered and oppressive, XIMs everywhere, hard cheaters flying, and back to tons of account recovers. 0.9s all of a sudden playing at a 2.0 on the weekends when bungie is off. AI doesn't work well for PvP because it is either to strong or doesn't do anything. AI will also always shoot at the centroid of a character. Also you are asking for code that bungie cant even do. i mean look at Destiny 2. the code is trash.

I come back to Destiny for mayhem once every few weeks, and I’ve been enjoying the new black ops. It’s nice to have a game that loads you into the match every 20 seconds when it takes 15 minutes to load into the tower…

lol yeah right ! Isn’t happening . Come on for the last year we have all seen and heard what is happening . Bungie are finished with Destiny PvP ….we knew this would happen ! Bungie have moved on ….marathon is their focus now . What are people expecting?! Slowly but surely D2 pvp will fade out like D1. So make the most of it whilst it’s around 🤷🏼♂️
