Do you think we can have subclasses that aren’t light or dark
Like vex tech, cloudstrider nanotechnology, psion psychic powers maybe even fallen tech

I mean people have wanted SIVA subclasses for years now. I’d like to see some classes get certain subclasses while others don’t. I.E. Hunters get Cloudstrider tech from Nimbus, Warlocks get SIVA tech from a Rasputin vault, Titans get Hive tech imbued by Savathun.

Yesnt. I don’t think we can have the specific in game ability to weild these powers as a subclass, but we have used these powers outside of Subclasses and canonically still have them. For example, Deepsight is a Darkness power that we actively use. Just because it isn’t a Subclass doesn’t mean it’s not apart of our roster of powers. We have also used Splicer tech to interact with Vex Tech and whatnot. In Season of the Witch, we actively used Hive Magic. Essentially, we already use the powers you suggest, but not in the form of Subclasses. Bungie would never give us a subclass not related to Darkness or Light. No Wish Magic. Nothing.

my mind immediately went to a kinetic class.. some of my favorite weapons in the game.. ... the story could be guardians that had to hide their affinity for light and dark.. and just tried to blend in to another populace.. became experts in non elemental warfare

Tbh when we first got introduced to the cloud striders. I was hoping that at some point we would have it as a playable class. This is why destiny 3 is importance. They can move away from the light and dark saga. Away from even humanity. They can explore the story arc of other light wielders.

Light and dark are the fundamental aspects of the universe. Maybe something like the 9s power could work outside that. But the 9s power would be closer to prismatic than anything truly alien to us. Unless bungies next saga includes new gods that possess their own fundamental forces, no.

I hope not. But hopefully the new weapon and armor systems theyre developing give them more freedom to make our gear represent stuff like that in the game. A guardian fully equipped with vex weapons and armor pulsating with weird vex energy would be super cool. But to my understanding it wouldn't make sense as a subclass.
