Make sure that you have the Guardian Games class item on and run the competitive night fall a few times. The patrol zone is real picky about what counts.

Good 'ol Destiny. IDK then that should count. Double check your class item because that gets switched every time you use a load out. Do you have any Guardian Games quests that aren't finished?
