It was stated by bungie somewhere that vex mythoclast gets treated as a high impact frame auto rifle when it comes to balancing the weapon. I’m not sure why it didn’t get the buff if that is the case.

Edited by Drakrylos: 8/23/2023 2:20:20 PMGood news, Season of the Witch gave Mythoclast a 25% buff against minors and majors. Hard ratio to the idiots saying it won't get it because "iT's A fUsIoN rIfLe". Function over a mere title, as it should be.

Precisely my point. Thank you, finally someone that actually reads. It's why I keep making the point of function taking precedence over classification with Mythoclast.

Just go find the twitter post and drop it on these knuckleheads. I can’t be bothered to look for it. If it is indeed coded as a high impact frame auto when balancing as bungie stated, then there’s a reason it got left out of the buff. Or maybe it was an oversight.

https://www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/50572 Here’s some info. It’s old but should be relevant unless stated otherwise elsewhere. Vex Mythoclast - We were cautious with tuning this one at launch, knowing that shipping a dominant weapon that has incredibly low ownership would break PvP, and aimed for "balanced, but erring on the side of not letting it ship too strong." However, it fell short of balanced, ownership is much higher now, and we want it to be strong enough to be a desirable reward from Vault of Glass: PVE damage bonus increased by ~40%. Range stat increased to be near-best in class for high impact Auto Rifles. Increased stability stat. Reworked catalyst to grant stability and damage after a kill. Increased rate of fire from 360 to 390. Reduced Linear Fusion Rifle mode charge time from 820 to 533 (same as standard Linear Fusion Rifles). No longer loses overcharge stacks on stow except when in Linear Fusion Rifle mode.

Another post more recent https://www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/51319 Is Vex Mythoclast a Fusion Rifle when it comes to airborne effectiveness, and what is its stat? Vex Mythoclast's airborne effectiveness stat is 19, and it's treated as an Auto Rifle for translating the stability stat into flinch resistance and how its airborne effectiveness stat is translated.

Edited by UnderneathBlood: 4/27/2023 7:08:27 AMIt seems that the vex weapon type is a special case. It’s a fusion rifle but it’s also an auto rifle when bungie deems it so. For the case of the recent auto buff, either bungie forgot to include it, or they deemed not to.
