Horrible system! Give Bungie some development time and garbage like this is what they will always come up with. Tell you to climb ranks and reach ascendant but they pretty much lock you into a certain rank. Their stupidity is laughable. You kill it with a 3.0 kd and do the most damage and most kills, and are rewarded with a +36. You can also have the same exact performance the next game but lose, and get a -187. So freaking dumb
-
I don't get it either. I was actually having quite the fun trucking to. Ascendant and I am about halfway thru adept 1 and I noticed +5s.... It's just stupid.. I don't get why simply letting people just win set points in comp to a goal is such a bad thing to bungie. Just fn let people play. I swear they make the most ridiculous decisions for a multi billion dollar company.. So the more you play the less you get? I mean someone tell me that isn't what I'm dealing with
-
I believe that its a combination of the fact that elo is still a hidden stat, and comp queues are not based on actual competitive rank, but the hidden elo. This on top of the fact that there is no personal performance bonuses (I went 20-5 in one game and lost, teammates were all below 0.8kda and I lost 200 points) means that comp solo queue can feel really bad when the game decides what rank you are and stops you from progressing.

the emblem isn't worth the headache.

Edited by Killmonger: 4/18/2023 11:00:36 PMIt’s a trash can playlist now. After they said weapons ritual weapons like luna howl, Not Forgotten and the other weapons weren’t going to be coming back i decided I could care less about that mode. I got my preferred rose roll and never looked back.

Bungie math 1 + (-10) = 5?
-
They don’t want ppl to play comp Bungie is a very odd company, but based on what they virtue signal over vs what they choose to ignore pretty much sums up everything we know about them
-
That happens when Bungie determines that your mmr is equal your current rank. Still a bad system because it's not transparent. I'd much rather have true rank based matchmaking.
-
Alot of people have said they stopped playing because of it
-
It’s very weird, I can sweat my butt off to secure a win carrying my team win +5, get curbstomped (it happens) but my team carry’s the victory I get +180. It’s not performance based. It’s odd because I win more +5 than I win any other points.
-
I think it’s a great system to destroy any desire to play comp.
-
It’s designed to keep you playing as long as possible. Pretty simple. Shady and underhanded, yeah. But true nonetheless.
-
A while back you could stay away from it a couple days and it would balance out. If you play way too much you lose a lot and gain a little. Not sure if this still works.
-
If your getting 5 points it's because although your winning, you playing poop

We are the same guy fr

Qué? What?

That’s why I don’t even bother with that garbage
Competitive PVP
I do find that crap. You lose more for a loss than gain for a win.
-
I believe their system takes into account the skill levels of your opponents. You don't get many points from beating people you're supposed to beat but you lose big when they beat you. Of course they've changed everything lately and how they deal with team composition is definitely a work in progress. Considering all the upcoming changes, taking pvp too seriously is going to be painful for the foreseeable future.
-
Stop losing then.
-
Yeah comp what a mess and nothing to chase ….have no idea put themselves through the pain 🤷🏼♂️
-
Usually I only lose 5 points.
