Have you reinstalled your OS when switching back and forth between two different motherboards/CPUs? Or are they two different computers using the same GPU?

  • Two different computers, after looking through the forums its safe to say its a destiny issue. There are hundreds of people reporting the same symptoms with completely different specs.

  • I beg to disagree; whole system reboots are due to HW failures or catastrophic SW corruption/misconfigurations. Modern computers and OSes don't usually reboot because a game/program crashes/hangs.

  • In that case how do you explain multiple people experiencing the exact same problems with completely different pcs, makes no sense that a hardware failure is present because wouldn't that effect every other game to some degree and not just destiny?

  • I am just stating the obvious; if it was due to Destiny 2 causing catastrophic errors to the point that a PC reboots 1. it would show in the logs/dumps/Dxdiag reports 2. it would affect pretty much every PC player

  • It maybe some conflict in my system, but it does not make any sense that there are loads of people on this forum with the exact same symptoms and it not be because of the game, Destiny has had memory leaks and stuff of that nature a few times now so it doesn't surprise me.

  • may i ask the make and model of you psu(s) in both computers, when you refer to a hard lockup of each pc what exactly happens?, does the screen go black?, does audio continue to play? does the pc just restart like you pressed the reset button?, do any of your motherboards have onboard qled's to show what may be the problem, if you get a red led when the pc restarts that may indicate a cpu problem like overheat issue, does a yellow led show if so that indicates a potentual memory problem again overhead or at the speed its running it may not be stable. i know i had problems a while ago when i tried overclocking my ram, the game would run for a while then i'd get a hard lock and reset, backed my ram down and the game worked flawless and my fps returned to normal, i think i lost around 20-40fps, if your rams not right destiny 2 will let you know pretty quick. do you get the same kind of crashes in any other games you play?
