That depends on how DNS queries are handled; sent through the VPN or not?

I'd like to believe they're sent through the DNS, but I'm not sure, I can switch it to 1.1.1.1 or Google and try that? I'd like to believe since they offer Net shield and custom DNS's would disable that it's doing the queries.

Afaik Windows 10 doesn't basically discriminate DNS queries even when Split Tunneling is active, so it's up to the VPN supplier's own software to take care of that.
