Transmog, is this a joke?
So, we can wear whatever we want, but we actually can't? Crucible ornaments are locked to crucible armors, and you're even too lazy to let us who spent money on our solstice ornaments not actually even use them because it's "too difficult?"
Cut the crap bungie, you've all gotten -blam!-ing lazy, luke smith sunk his teeth too deep, and demanding more cash even though we have free options. yet the money you make back are definitely not going towards season or event quality seeing as guardian games is a ripoff and stopped being relevant by the next reset, hell it's the exact same as last year, just bounty grinding, cut this shit, let us wear our ornaments we spent money on and we earned on any legendary pieces.
I bet you shits are gonna attempt to fork our old ornaments into a cash pool for global unlock to fuel your own pockets as none of that goes to making the game better that's for sure.
(This is literally the paid ornaments on weapons that got sunset issue all over again but for armors)

Bungie cannot for once just give the community something without screwing it up. They have been working on Transmog for a long time and the best they can come up with is this garbage system! No year 1 items, no glow and a stupid grind just to Transmog gear.!! All they had to do was update the universal ornament tab with everything that we have unlocked and let us Transmog for glimmer an planetary resources, but instead they make a complete mess of it. It's sad how terrible Bungie is!

Whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather, he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank just outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.

dont forget that now you can transmog a whole armor set and still not be able to use the full set because you have an exotic on.

After this, you'll then have to convert the Synthcord to Synthweave which can then finally convert select pieces of armor into the Ornaments.[/i] Bungie's approach to transmog is way worse than any of us could have predicted. A needlessly complex, overly grinding, ridiculously stingy system that feels like the thing you announce so that it can then be walked back by PR and then the BDF can be like “[i]see, they listened, they care![/i]” Bungie have found a way to monetise the most asked for feature of the series since it's launch. We'll see a limit increase per season after all this and that's it. It will remain a predatory mess.

5 RepliesIf you were reasonable, you'd see that this system has taken a lot of development resources to implement. There needs to be some financial return on that. Realistically, 10 armour pieces per character per season is loads. Who even wants more than that? That's 2 full sets. In the 1st season we get 4 full sets. I don't understand who actually wants more than 1 set in the 1st place.

I'd say all of bungie is greedy not just luke smith. I don't see people at bungie speaking out about this the actual people that work on the game no matter if it costs them there job at bungie.

1 ReplyDon’t forget they are also trying to justify the increase of Shaders because of transmog, a while back i was talking to some people and told them this was just another thing they were hyping up to ruin, they called me paranoid. Its all a joke they made 3 tiers of syntho-whatever and made the sources annoying to grind, maybe if it was enemy kills it would be fine but ITS NOT, its objectives.

There’s already 5 currencies to masterwork armour, now we’ve got several more to transmog (unless you just use the old universal currency of actual, real money). No surprises though, it’s completely in line with the rest of the game format. I find myself not f*******d about it. I’ve accepted that a huge part of the “game” and many of the weapons and other s**t are out of reach. Partly because I don’t play with others and partly because I can’t be bothered because I don’t have that much time and I want to do things that I find fun. I’d rather stick needles in my eyes than play trials and the idea of spending hours doing a raid with other people fills me with horror. Having listened to my son in the next room spend entire Friday evenings shouting down a headset, while the motly team of mates he assembled tried to do the leviathan raid, I can’t see why I’d not do something less stressful, like juggling wasps nests naked while covered in jam. The only stuff I really ground out has now been nerfed and sunset, Luna’s, Recluse and loaded question, so that was time well spent wasn’t it? Fool me once Bungie..... I’m at the point of a smoker or other addict. I’m asking the question, do I play the game because i enjoy it or because I feel bad if I don’t? Not 100% sure I know the answer. Still, it is just a game, a trivial amusement to distract from the often unpleasant realities of life or to simply pass the time when I’m alone on the sofa and there’s nothing to watch on tv.

The only defense I can give to this transmog system is that they have found a way to narratively fit it into their world and as to why it makes sense and is now possible. I've not come across another game transmog that does that. However, just because you can reinvent the wheel for creative and narrative purposes, doesn't mean you should.

ya know I would accept the old stuff like IB and crucible ornements being sold for silver, either that or giving us the change to earn them again, but this ? what did they expect would happen, its not even the first time, bungie saw how mad players got after grinding the hell of the solstice armors just to have them be obsolete in a matter or week

Literally all they needed to do was make the shaders infinite use, let us convert any armor piece into a universal ornament either by unlocking it in collections or dismantling it, and then allow us to apply it to our armor pieces for free. We shouldn’t have to farm materials to unlock armor appearances that we already earned.
