    As someone who uses tarrabah consistently, absolutely not. It would be beyond broken. Aside from the perk, tarrabah is a decent smg with heavy flinch, the only downside being subpar range. With the perk it becomes unbeatable. I’d say that having to play around the weapon’s limitations and not being able to swap is a good compromise for how strong it becomes. Most also don’t fully understand how to play around the gun, efficiently charge the perk and when to use it for maximum effect. If I was to give it a catalyst, it would be increased range or magazine capacity. This is all for a pvp only standpoint however and I could see other changes being needed for pve

    • It shouldn't hold it, but instead have it begin deteriorating after swapping instead of flat out lose it. No decent player strictly mains just one weapon out of the 3 they have on them, that's just stupid. This gun needs changes like the one I suggested.

      I don’t even have the gun and this makes enough sense that I upvote it when I see it. But I can see why people wouldn’t want this in PvP. Which is why PvP ruins [i]every[/i]thing. Or at least it’s ruined [i]by[/i] everything. Womp womp.

    • This. It wouldn’t even be broken. With the perk active it can shred in pvp with a ridiculously low TTK. On top of that it has decent range and better recoil control with the last SMG buff. Reasons its not broken PvP: - Still requires two kills for it to activate. - base SMGs get destroyed 9 times out of 10 due to shotguns, fusions, and Sidearms. It can compete in ranges with the rest of the primaries. - The buff only lasts for 10 seconds. The kill time extension is basically non-existent in PvP. Reasons for PvE: - This mainly comes down to scaling and the power of other exotics that you can choose from. It has a decently long setup time that you’re just using a basic solar SMG. This compares to things like Lament’s overwhelming DPS (even after the nerf it’s getting), Anarchy’s Total Damage, Izanagi’s High burst DPS, And Trinity Ghoul’s broken add clear. If you still think it’s broken in PvP, reduce the buff duration in pvp by 2-3s or remove the timer extension in its perk in PvP only. IDK, it’s a fun weapon but it feels like it punishes your for using it.

      • The progress should remain after swapping, but if you have Ravenous Beast ready to activate and swap, your progress should slowly decrease but not all at once. The debuff for the loss in progress could be something like Ghalran’s Banquet.

        • Bungie isn't doing it likely because of pvp reasons (see the reason Ace was nerfed). Imo, I think reducing the necessary damage to charge RB would make it better without breaking it.

          wont happen to broken, that being said why not look at different avenues? that datamined catalyst is not bad but also potentially game breaking as well, so what about adding a "Frenzy" type mechanic that increases it duration when it stays in combat? Or we could go for broke and add a catalyst that makes it so terrabah does not count as an exotic? maybe add 10 rounds in the mag as well with said change. But this returns to another point. because its in the kiosk it puts more value on older content making the current weapons developed to be a shit show. I know the devs dislike anarchy and xeno because they make new content worthless beyond it being "collectable". following that logic it will likely never get buffed or fixed, because it devalues their current efforts and enforces the best is in the past.

        • I bet it has something to do with it's design that they said no. Not necessarily BECAUSE it would be broken, but because if it stored charge it would probably be able to gain charge too while stowed. And just like that one handcannon I forget the name of that shot 2 bullets and had fourth times the charm, they probably couldn't fix it so they said "just leave it alone." Because really it wouldn't be op if it stored charge because in order to gain it you have to actually use the weapon. I could foresee a scenario where somebody pretty good at the game could roll around with it...but the chances of that being the case with how strong shotguns and gap closing are...makes me more inclined to believe that it wouldn't be a big deal.

        • Or when you switch weapons the charge starts to decrease somewhat slowly so than you cant just keep a full charge for emergencies or something

          That would be broken and Bungie had already said that this was intentional. Pretty sure someone mentioned this but if they reduced the amount of damage significantly, then that would be great allowing 100% uptime for the strongest primary in the game when the perk is up. Another change I would like to see is to make the gun pull from reserves when Ravenous Beast is proced , you can basically pump out special weapon damage for 8 seconds(longer if you are doing damage) and at a sustained rate too. With these buffs, Tarrabah would be the most versatile Jack of all Trades gun in the game. Edit: Holding the charge would be broken in PvP. Its the reason why Ace got nerfed. Should’ve probably mentioned that. And also Tarrabah, is one of the strongest PRIMARIES in the game.

          • Bungie already said no to this, but they should increase the amount of charge you get from hits and taking damage. They could also add a passive charging rate to it as well as add a small damage reduction while using it, since this exotic requires you to play hyper aggressive.
