They should at least make the mods no more than 5 energy cost that way you at least have the possibility of that combination especially when you have Nightfalls that consist of all 3 types of champions.
YES you could coordinate with your fireteam but if one person goes down you maybe screwed why not give the option of making it possible that way you’re not fore to play the same way in higher end content on all your guardians.

Guardian,Archon Of Light
Blade Of The Traveler - old
IMO they shouldn't be mods, they should automatically grant the perk described, like the iron lord artifacts in D1 Taking full advantage of your artifact should have never depended on mod space -
Uhhhh Lament with an arc grenade, done. I prefer the antibarrier for sniper. Gives my succession Izanami type use.
-
Just use an overload bow then and now a sword.
-
They should just make it so that the weapon mods which are specifically created to modify your weapon are, *gasp* applied to the weapon. I’m pretty sure that would quantify as modifying the weapon, but who knows
-
It's funny how OP wants to play in a certain way. In a looter shooter. And a big part of replies are "You should play this way dummy" Man. Game designed for backseaters.
-
then stun him with bow and use a sword
-
use an smg, divinity, bow.. dont need a sword or sniper
-
They need to add more champion exotics, especially oveload
-
They’ll stop at nothing to make activities last as long as possible and it even shows in the loot system. That gives the game a false sense of depth and less work for this “triple A”studio.

Edited by RoninPhoenix650: 3/1/2021 6:37:27 AMBetween stasis, Erianas vow, leviathans breath, and divinity, I rarely even remember the mods exist. There are other options for built in champion mods too, like lament.
-
I think Bungie did this just so players wouldn't run anti barrier sniper and disrupting blade together. Overloads will come to you when spotted, and it'll basically allow you to camp back in safety and cheese champions all day long. That's also probably why they made the other mods cost 1, and gave at least 2 choices for each type of champion... 3 choices for overload. Not saying it's right, but I can see why it was done.
-
For all 3 I'd use ikelos or a bow for overloads depending on the difficulty, seventh seraph revolver for unstoppables and lament for barrier. Although I like to use lament for pretty much anything.
-
Edited by Lull9: 3/1/2021 5:57:41 AMBows are the absolute best weapon in the game for overloads. And you can use lament for anti-barrier if you want to run a sword. You're doing it wrong.
-
Use solar melee for unstoppable, a bow kinetic, and borealis as your energy. Add your favorite heavy and you're ready for anything
-
Only way to use Anti Barrier Sniper reliably from what i’ve seen is equipping Eriana’s Vow.
-
I ran overload arc grenade sniper and pulse to have all 3
-
I liked an idea that I saw here on the forums. Once you unlock those mods, it should be passive. Basically no mods to slot, just pull the gun out and it automatically has anti barrier on it. That way it frees a spot for some weapon reloaders, but give us options as well.
-
The sword one isn’t great it takes about 5 hits

Same for overload swords, do they think it's easy to try an swipe hits at an enemy that CONSTANTLY teleports ? ffs can't they just make a multiuse mod for specific weapons (all three types in one mod, bungie picks for what weapon(s) per season) and call it a day instead of having mods that nobody in their right mind would use Also mods should be constantly active like antibarrier is, why tf should they only turn on after a second or hitting a target, champions should stay stunned if you keep shooting at them with it or at least remove their god forsaken lockout timer before they stun again...
-
Agreed. I wish the champion mods were toggled instead of armor related. The mods for other builds really suffer from the costs.
-
I use the arc grenade mod for Overloads
-
If your going to use a sword on OL, I would suggest a smg stun. This combined with a Temptation Hook is all ya need partna. This leaves an energy weapon of your choice to carry. Hope this helps.
-
Leviathans breath, barrier sniper, and overload smg with overload arc grenades. All 3 right there.
-
This is why I ran Divinity when I was farming this weeks Master (got 2 god roll Swarms so I'm done). LFG wants to run swords and then wonders why they either wipe at the boss or have to climb up to a cheese spot. Bows and SMGs are trash on Overload Minotaurs. Just have 1 guy run Night Watch/Divinity/Tomorrow's Answer.
-
Edited by Doom Random: 2/28/2021 12:21:10 PMThen run Anti-barrier scout and overload bow or overload smg....you've got options, buttercup.
-
If you are running up on an overload with a sword on Master, you don't deserve sympathy.. you can just run a bow or divinity.. if nobody in ur fireteam has divinity, then go with a bow.. you literally have options other than to use a sword.
