Temporarily restricted - looking for networking help

Hi All A couple of weeks ago I had a pop up with a warning about network stability. I had noticed the game was feeling "off", especially in PvP modes, where my connection strength was jumping up and down a bit. I've been playing Destiny/Destiny 2 since launch with no issues, but obviously something had gone wrong somewhere. I already had port forwarding set up as per Bungie's instruction page, but after removing the rules it seemed to improve. I've been playing today and, after switching characters, I tried to load into Gambit and got the 'RESTRICTED' pop up, so I'm guessing that I'm still having problems. I've been sat in the Tower, main Europa landing zone, and EDZ watching the connection meter. The vast majority of the time I'm showing as full, occasional drops to three quarters (apologies if it's not in quarters, but seems to be), which some brief moments of dropping to half full. Long and short, I'm after three pieces of help, one of which I'm sure will come from Bungie themselves; 1.) How long is the restriction for? I do know that there's usually a pop up that explains this, and I'm certain there will have been in this case, but I've probably just been hammering through menus and accidentally immediately closed it. 2.) Port forwarding didn't seem to help at all, so is there something else I should be looking at? I'm connected wired to the router, all other games seem fine, etc 3.) A more precise reason for the restriction, if that information is available, ie was it speeds, packet loss, etc? Thanks for any advice!

 • 1. Restrictions related to connectivity issues will be two weeks for the first offense and then two months for subsequent offenses. So if you've never been restricted before then it likely is a two week restriction. 2. If you have a decent router there is really no reason to enable port forwarding. All you really need is UPnP enabled. If you are using port forwarding, then the only way for it to work properly is the computer or console you're playing from needs to have a fixed IP address. 3. Bungie generally does not discuss restrictions or bans with users. You have all four supported platforms linked on this profile, which specific platform are you primarily playing on? What type of Internet service do you have; fiber, cable, dsl, satellite, wireless, or mobile? What are your stated Internet speeds you are paying for? Are you in a shared network or is this in a single family home? In other words are you playing on say a college network, or an apartment complex that distributes Internet to residents, or some other similarly shared environment? If this is a single family home network, do you have a router that is separate from your Internet modem? If you have a separate router, do you just have one router or do you have multiple routers? If you have a separate router is the router providing DHCP or are you bypassing the router with the Internet modem providing DHCP? Using DSLReports.com I would suggest running several speed tests to see what your actual up/down speeds are coming in at. On DSLReports.com you can also test packet loss and jitter. I would suggest running these tests multiple times as well. Feel free to report back the connection test results you got at dslreports.com for speed, packets, and jitter.
