It wouldn’t be outside of the darkness but in and of itself. Hear me out, if they play it out like that and this “new race” is like what the precursors were to the Halo universe then this could be a huge step and if done right could pan out a whole new game and not be full of dead content. Literally I could sit here and explain it but it would take way too long. (Ha.. no time to explain lol) But if you all could understand where I’m coming from with this you all would probably be impressed by it and wish Bungie would do it. And to answer the other comment yes the ahamkara is kind of a similar concept but the one that attacked the awoken was corrupted by the taken. And both the taken and siva were entities created through artificial or alchemy means. This new group if done like the precursors would be an originating species that predates everything in the universe and would be a force far more ancient than any enemy ever faced and would be looked at in a way like the forerunners were in the halo universe but far more dangerous and powerful. I’m talking truly challenging raids again, gear that looks badass and exclusive to Raid completion like back in the Crota days and earn-able cosmetics for it that enhance them and add an effect to it that isn’t just color but adds more flair and uniqueness to the armor itself like the dreaming city armor but not bound to just being at a specific location. A campaign that has depth to it that takes a longer time than usual to complete and in order to progress you may need to perform some of the side missions (even though there will be many others and tasks that offer chances to earn gear or weapons, some of them being hidden side tasks or quests for either exotics or earning special items or a special mission exclusive piece of armor like obtaining the dark blade helm in D1). Shit I have ideas for days.. someone needs to put me on the damn dev team already..
