Why do people even want ornaments as they do nothing?
Why people even want new armour after they find the one that suits them as new armour will not bring anything to the game?
Personally I see them as worthless things but that is just me ☺

Need for novelty. Some people have a high need for newness. Otherwise they get bored, restless and frustrated. What the OP fails to realize is that the new ornaments need to blend with the old ones. Other wise the player looks ridiculous with a blend of set across different seasons. Plus it allows players to mix and match and get a personalized look. For example I think the warlock Crucible chest ornament for this season looks like ass, and I would be caught dead wearing it. So I can get the new ones while keeping the chest one from Season 2.

You’re correct as to they don’t bring nothing to the table but, some people prefer fashion. In Warframe, this is the same case.
