I remember when Jason Jones and Joseph Staten were like brothers. Those two made Halo 2. To me I’m still shocked to how Jason would do this by firing Joseph Staten.

Jason rejected the super cut of the story that Joseph and his writing team did. Said it was “too linear”. So they (Jason Jones and Luke Smith and others) rejected it and butchered it and cut and pasted and jobbled it to fit their own ends. (Think about it: a few non-writers thought they could out-perform a career writer... *facepalm*). Joseph was probably pissed and hurt so he ended up moving on to bigger and better things.

Because the original story did not lend well to being cut into pieces, they butchered it for the express purpose of selling it to us as additional paid DLC.
