• Mind if I asked what all you learned from this? And if you have any thoughts of your own on the topic, or questions to ask, feel free. If not, that's fine too, but if you do, that's partially what this thread is for.

  • Well I learnt basically everything lol, considering I knew next to nothing on necromancy before. I mean, I knew it was a dark art, but I had no idea about its origins and all of the specific practices involved.

  • That's reasonable, most people don't have much of a purpose in researching this subject. Though, since you bothered to read all of that, I assume it piqued your interest to a certain degree?

  • Yeah more in the whole original Greek thing, where it wasn't all (super) dark and sinister.

  • I don't recall who said it, but "the road to hell is paved with good intentions". Anything positive can be turned sinister given someone who's willing to make it so, and there's no shortage of that in this world. Though, I see a certain degree of necessity for the illusions of good and evil, light and dark, all of those little ways humans like to divide the world and themselves into a state of black and white, rather than the endless expanse of gray that reality tends to be from an unobscured point of view. It keeps things in check, where it's possible for opposing viewpoints and philosophical variety to exist without one ideology completely dominating the others.

Yeah it's simply human nature to have to have an enemy. So many forms have been taken over the years, and this is one of them.

  • Agreed. However, what is your opinion of the branch without any inherent ill intentions? And do you personally put any stock into the potential reality behind any of it?
