I think the total disaster that ffxv development has been was the main reason for the ff7 remake and the decision to go episodic.
I doubt its even possible for xv to be profitable at this point, even if it ends up being amazing

XIII and XV began development before the PS3 was announced that's pathetic and XV had nothing to do with the Remake's development
