While I'm probably going to get yelled at for saying this, I see Christianity as an excuse. An excuse for people to hate, an excuse for not minding your own business, and an excuse for telling other people how to live their lives. While I understand that it was founded on beneficial ideas, many of those ideas have become outdated and nonrelevant, yet people still cherrypick these things to discriminate against others, in the same part of the bible that says a man loving another man is wrong, it says you can't wear clothes of different materials and shave your beard. If you wanna be a Christian, be a Christian, not a hateful and discriminatory douche.
Love, and observant atheist
Love, and observant atheist
Can't tell if you're being sarcastic here with the misspelling, or if it's just a typo.
-
Whoops just a typo XD
-
Says the bigot.
-
What?

I don't recall the bible stating you can't be a homosexual. One of the only things I recal of homosexuality was a condemning of a homosexual rape. Which could lead some to believe that being gay is unholy
-
Yeah being homosexual is not the sin. Just strive to not have the sexual thoughts (same as a man shouldn't lust after a woman with his thoughts.) But committing the act like laying with a man is what's the bad thing
-
I honestly think it's less about the religious reasons and more about keeping gay people at a lower social level than the rest, just like racism. The bible is only an excuse.
-
When religion is in the Christian mix (which is about 90% of all followers), it makes it what you just stated. But that 10% is different
-
I'm not an atheist, but I find your perspective interesting.
Idk what I am, but I'm definitely not going to be a christian or an evolutionist.
-
an evolutionist.
What are the beliefs of an evolutionist?
-
Evolutionists believe in evolution. Doesn't take Sherlock to figure that one out
-
Evolutionists believe in evolution. Doesn't take Sherlock to figure that one out
But that's just science. What other beliefs to evolutionists have?
-
Idk! Go ask an evolutionist!
-
Evolutionism isn't a religion, though. Someone who acknowledges evolution isn't an evolutionist - they're just someone who is educated in science.
-
Ok, but I'll never believe in evolution.
-
But for what reason? A logical one, an emotional or a plea to the ego of humanity that requires us to think ourselves above our natural world?
-
Edited by Auver: 11/5/2015 5:00:05 PMI can't believe that all this *Points to world* is an accident, let alone came from some random explosion that ignited from nothing
-
So what do you posit in lieu of Evolution? (Evolution doesn't say anything about HOW we got here but rather how, after we got here, we became what we are. It is the mechanism of life, not the reason for it :) )
-
So what do you posit in lieu of Evolution?
Not trying to be mean, but I don't understand what you are asking

Edited by Mad Max: 11/5/2015 5:06:23 PM
I can't believe that all this *Points to world* is an accident, let alone came from some random explosion that ignited from nothing
The fact that this all came together by chance is what makes it beautiful. Complexity and statistical improbability doesn't mean God did it.
-
Ok, but I'll never believe in evolution.
Why would you deny all the facts and evidence supporting it?
-
I'm not prepared to answer this question, I need to learn more about evolution. But from what I know, it seems highly unlikely
I'm not prepared to answer this question, I need to learn more about evolution. But from what I know, it seems highly unlikely
...have you never taken a biology class? This is like, 6th grade material.
-
Actually at my school it's 9nth. Im in 8th :P

Evolutionism is being able to wipe the religious film from your eyes and realizing that evolution isn't a theory
