If 2034 would happen I would really want it to be in an open world, but also keeping the survival aspect to. I've always liked the world above the metro and wanted to explore it more.
Basically keep the same formula for a normal Metro game, but make it in an open world with side quests, crafting etc.

Edited by Psyntifik: 2/25/2015 2:11:26 AMThe last thing Metro needs is open world. Open world isn't God's gift to gaming, stick it on the wrong game and it would just get ruined. Metro is made epic by the fact Artyom stops at nothing to save his station... Oh but wait! He decided to help an old person kill some bandits instead =/ Well, Hunter... But you get my point.

Edited by Tiber of Astora: 2/25/2015 5:23:21 AMThe Metro game has a limited open world in some missions (Dead City for example). Expand it a bit and it's a recipe for success.

Well maybe make it a completely different story. I understand that the Metro games are very story driven games, and I wouldn't want to ruin Artyom's story. I would want it to expand on the Metro universe, but not completely lose its feel and immersiveness from the original games. Also, I know open world games aren't always the right way to go with games, I just really like open world games and the world of Metro, so I would like to see the two together.

My computer is mid-range. I tried playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R Call of Pripyat and it's rendering engine is so awful that it caused my descent rig to poop and lag. Still it's a good game.

I've always wanted to play that game, I just don't have a computer that could run it.
