No, this will not solve anything. This is between Marty and Bungie, not us. Yes, we're fans and want to know more which we have every right to want, but boycotting their game solves nothing. This is a private matter, don't try making things worse.

well look at what happened when we boycotted the Pre ordering of the xbox one? one way or another Microsoft saw that numbers were down and that we ultimately decided their systems fate, not them...maybe..if we can make a titan like Microsoft bend a knee once in a while, we can do the same with a company with a far better track record... im on the fence now because it'll hurt...really hurt to have to boycott something i've been so exited for...and i don't know what will help the Bungie team more in the long run .. buying it or not buying it, but this is a big change to Bungie, and it will never be the same, without Marty O' Donnell i don't think we can ever feel that '04 vibe again...in exchange for taking that from us...i think we deserve at least the real reason why...

Those were online policies, not someone's job.

Exactly, so this is bigger than that, this is a person, a part of a community stronger than a decade old, if some online policy was worth fighting for then dont you think the justice of truth for a inspiration to so many people is worth it too?
-
Reasons for termination of employment are an incredibly personal matter, don't think of it as being smaller than changing an online policy, but a different matter entirely. Do you really think that Bungie will violate Marty's privacy for the sake of satiating the curiosity of a few ?

Marty's firing is top news on Facebook. That's "private", alright. I'm not asking for Marty to be rehired. I just want the truth. Bungie has been really good about being on the level with their fans for years. But today, they had an opportunity to come clean with the truth and they didn't. And they haven't for nearly a week. This isn't something I want to support, and I won't, until the truth comes out.

So you think employers should tell millions of people the specific reasons for firing an employee? I expect that if it was for financial reasons, they will mention it in the Weekly Update, and if it was something Marty did, they shouldn't. Yes, I am sad to see Marty go. Yes, it is a definite possibility that the BOD are making some bad decisions. However, I'm not going to declare war against them over something like this. Marty is fine, he's going on to do more things, it's not like they've ruined his career. Actually, if I were him, I'd pretty soon be more annoyed with people trying to bring down my previous employer while I'm finding work elsewhere. Even if you could teach the BOD a lesson, even if they could hire Marty back, wouldn't it be horrible to work for people who fired you and only took you back because of fan complaints?
