What game engine is the best? Cry Engine 3, Unreal4, Frost Bite 2, etc
Which engine do you think is the best out there? My vote goes to Cry Engine 3.

In terms of 'ease of use', I prefer working with the Unity engine. Very straight forward, but it isn't really the best in terms of performance by any means. I just enjoy using it, it's given me a lot less grief than other engines have.

Source Engine.

R.A.G.E Dat Euphoria physics man

Cry Eng. 3, Frostbite 2, whatever 343i used on Halo 4 and if someone could tell me, the engine for FF13. Not a fan or anything, but from the few trailers and such I've seen, it looks beautiful.

CryEngine It's the trump card of game engines.
-
Looking at the impact they're having in the game industry currently? Unity. From a perspective of power? UE4. There is no 'best engine'.
-
To look at I'd say cryengine. But that's because it's made newer games. I'm not a developer so I wouldn't know how great it is when working with it.
-
I prefer Cry Engine 3 for it's world creating. It's so much easier than say Unreal or Valve's.
-
GoldSrc, obviously.

Why do people care so much about engines? none of them are the "best" There is a saying in game development "make games not engines"
