Yes, good players will kill you with anything, they just prefer the aggressive play style that shotguns offer

I've thought about this recently... if hand cannons were not able to track and connect so well (and not be flinched into oblivion) into the distance of sidearms/smg then you are correct, imo, shotgunners could not be as good because they would be missing a range.. that the hand cannon is affording them. But it is a skill managing the special ammo and being able to have the gunfight at that close distance with their primary. Also... abilities of course play a part in our space magic game. Its also a skill to have a different short range weapon too... and while using a shotgun/fusion is new to me (its fun try it out) > I'm still primary (sidearm/smg) for close range protection... I do enjoy and see the benefits as well of the "special" players. lol
