That’s a tough sell. People would also be more lenient on the issues with the game if it was free to play. There’s a lot of free games out right now that look better than Marathon...

FTP is what brought the cheaters to D2 PvP. Moreover, a FTP game is not Free To Support. It requires more microtransactions than a paid game.

I don't think Bungo/Sony would do that simply because if they do, they'll basically be admitting defeat.

Sony cancelled Concord in 2 weeks after spending billions of dollars in development. They will definitely make Marathon free to play if the player base size can’t sustain itself.
