Destiny has always been a game that's ran superb for me ever since I built my PC a year ago. Especially while streaming off of the same rig I never encountered any performance issues. However since Beyond Light released and I updated my Nvidia drivers the game has run substantially worse than it did previously.
There are no changes to my frames, but the game feels... choppy. When I look around there are small blips where I freeze. When I open my character menu my game will freeze for a number of seconds. This is all very new and NOT normal for my rig. It's even worse while I stream. My frames drop to single digits in OBS. Nothing has changed about my hardware, and everything worked completely fine before the new updates came out, and I don't have issues on other games.
I've tried reinstalling all of my drivers, reinstalling the game, verifying the integrity of my game files, reinstalling windows, changing every possible setting in OBS, switching between SLOBS and OBS Studio, changing my video settings in game. I'm out of ideas at this point.
Here are my PC specs:
CPU: i9-9900K @3.6Ghz
GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 2080 TI GAMING X TRIO
Memory - 64GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro @ 3200Mhz
Motherboard - ASUS Prime Z390-P
Anyone have an idea of why my game runs terribly now? And why it runs even worse when I have OBS recording/streaming?
Any ideas suggestions would be huge! I love streaming and playing this game! Would hate to lose that hobby.

I'm a bit relieved (not in a good way) that more powerful machines are having this issue. Rocking a laptop with the following specs: 16GB RAM i7-8750 RTX 2070 & an NVME SSD if that matters. Used to get 100+ frames on the highest settings before BL. Now doesn't matter what settings I use its b/w 40-50 FPS except in Orbit of course. Nothing I've Tried has helped. A stable 60 would be nice even.

I run on a much worse PC than you, so not sure how well the advice will translate, but: I always ran the game in windowed fullscreen with v-sync off, and never had issues. Got frame drops constantly after beyond light. Putting the game into fullscreen, and setting my v-sync solved them for me. I don't really understand computers if I'm being honest, but windowed fullscreen seems to be having issues since Beyond Light, my friend with a PC much closer to yours also had to change it.

Your spec is too low for stream thing :0 . But if you have capable to reinstall everything. I prefer find a new drive. and reinstall everything again with D2 only :0 Well which resolution is you play ? 4K ? 2K ? Ultra max ? low that quality down . We in new game engine. cheer

Im glad its not just me. I'm experiencing the same things, although the game is smooth until it becomes choppy with the microstutters. Thought it was my PC for the longest time.
