I changed my mind... sunsetting is good.

Yup. I just came to the realisation a few minutes ago that sunsetting is a good thing for me and the community at large. There are lots of games out there especially during this time where many of us are stuck at home. There are games on my wish list that I never got around buying and playing. For example, I just went ahead and got Halo. It's a Bungie game so I'm still supporting Bungie. And I've been meaning to get it but didn't bother because I was so hooked on D2. I guess there is a silver lining to this. To all the other people who are against sunsetting like me, I just want to encourage you to try out that game that's been sitting in your wish list. Some are from well-known developers, others are unknowns that could use our money and support especially during this difficult time where many people have lost their primary source of income. We can still love the game. It's not a contradiction to dislike sunsetting and loving the game all at the same time! We had a great run with D2. I made new friends and we're playing different games all the time. Plus, we can always pop in for some PvP since it's free to play. And there's a fall DLC coming which we can get when there's a Steam sale. There's no rule that says we *have to* get it at full price or right when it's released. And it's ok to miss a few seasons because Bungie said they'll bring back past seasonal events in some form/manner. Overall, I think it was money well spent. It's hard to put a price on entertainment (and I did genuinely have a lot of fun) and I think there's really no price on friendships. Sunsetting is good for everyone.
