I'm getting teamed with people that haven't even hit fabled in mythic 3 comp..
The guy had a 0.12kd other guy had a 0.96kd and I had a 2.11
Your system needs some work. You obviously just run it off kd or something. But a QP KD doesn't translate to comp at all. You need a mixture of glory + SBMM.
I keep getting 2 s**t players. Fix it.
Edit: I didn't expect this post to get this much attention. Thanks for all the feedback.
If you agree with it or disagree upvote or comment your thoughts. Let's see if bungie will comment "we'll pass the feedback on."
Hopefully if it gets enough attention they could Improve on the system.
Edit 2: Upon making this post I've found out a few interesting things!
The thing that breaks sbmm is (hard to explain...)
Sbmm can be evened out by putting lesser skill players with people that have a much greater skill to bring the average skill of that team down. If that team faces a team with players at that average they can all pull weight and hold there own. Bungie thinks that the top player can carry 2 lower skilled players but those lower skilled players dont know how to play at that level. Thus they get stomped and use up all of the lives. Resulting in a bad experience for that team. (Great fun for the other!)
Edit 3: looks like this post isnt going to get a response. Slowly being slid from the trending.

Bungie have always said that they don't use KD in their calculations. You're complaining about something that's completely irrelevant.
-
Wtf is SBMM

Изменено (MrVilliams): 11/11/2019 7:04:19 PMSBMM is pointless without dedicated servers. Ping discrepancies give too much of an advantage to host. Until this is changed (not going to happen) - we are all ******* in the wind with SBMM
-
5-6 year still NO DEDICATED servers and bungie is not responding. They are a big company and the game is out for years DLC after DLC eververse is to expensive and still they don't have the resources to add dedicate servers in the game but they still promote the sbmm to protect the new players for getting farmed for veterans The most of the games are a laggy sweat fest with cheaters running free cause they made f2p the pvp. DO THEY EVEN PLAY THER OWN GAME?!?!?
-
In my opinion, it’s better, but absolutely still needs work. Not holding my breath though. It been like this from the beginning
-
It’s not the SBMM fault, the player count is dying off very fast so you are automatically playing with who is available.
-
You need to stop complaining. Skill based is the best thing to happen to PvP in a LOOOONNGGGGG time bud. Every game I play in just makes me a better player and forces me into engagements that I wouldn’t normally be comfortable doing. I think it works like a charm and every game actually feels like a game now. Comp is incredible too and much more enjoyable, especially the new solo mode. Stop complaining and just get better. This game needs less complaining man up.
-
It’s a weird set up because I Oslo’s up to 5088 since there the games have been blow outs I get matched up against unbroken players that are far better then I am, I’m down to 4300 I think now. I’ve won a couple games within that losing streak. I really noticed it a couple days ago when I matched up against a team of two and they beat us because my teammates. I personally don’t see sbmm I feel the game let’s you win for a little then just F***s you 🤣
-
It’s a bad experience for everyone.

Изменено (Natdeguerre): 11/12/2019 1:05:57 PMIt’s the small player pool I guess. Bungie tries to even out the odds. It might work overall but certainly not within matches. I’ve tried some comp lately cause I kinda ran out of things I’m interested otherwise and I’ve been on either end of this. I’ve had people message me that I don’t belong in comp cause they were doing better kda wise and we lost lol. I also had matches were I was doing significantly better then my team mates. Just the way mm throws you together, shrugs. Then there is the weird stuff like players miraculously getting two rockets per heavy or having constant health recovery or near invincible ones with celebrity names, all the fun stuff. The greatest enemy is the crapy Internet I would say though, sometimes I seem to fire holographic bullets and can’t hit the broadside of a barn. In other games I just need to look at my enemy and they fall over. It’s all bullshit man, very few close games. It’s either getting stomped or doing the stomping. You might as well draw lots.
-
....well that explains my teams in comp.

If you want to win so bad, why do you choose to play with random players? A personal achievement to win solo? You are putting yourself at a disadvantage, no communication, unknown skill level, you dont know if your team is trying to win, your team mates might be working on quests and not trying to win. When i want to win, i play in a team. You can communicate, work as a team, everyone wants to win, everyone has good supers and weapons and People are skilled. Playing solo, you need lots of patience to deal with bad team mates and matchmaking issues. You also need decent skill to carry bad team mates or win 2v3. If you dont have both of those qualities, then maybe solo queue to win may not be right for you.
-
That’s why I don’t play that often. I don’t care who I play against but at least give me competent players.

just a game - старое
fact is, everyone who activated cross saving, plays on mouse and keyboard and thats the main problem; same with the latency - we played a team with 5500 and had no problem; i dont see any SBMM in pvp when i play regular pvp/IB/comp - everything random -
It is now taking me 5 to 10 minutes to find 12 guardians for an IB match. I'm in Western Canada. When I do get in, invariably they all have Asian or Spanish Xbox Gamer tags. Please hire competent network people and matchmakers.

It is a downside of cheap p2p system with minimal server investment. If you look on router traffic, here is how matchmaking works (xbox version). Console contacts xbl server in region. This is UK for most of Europe. Yes, I've a corporate vpn and I have tested it from all EU locations (finding players) Server replies in seconds to get a list of players who might match you (evaluating players). These are players looking for same activity as you, comp, pvp, pve strike, etc. If players are matched host players are selected. Yes, Netduma OS, figures it out and you can see in geo map. I am in UK and host is normally somewhere in continent. Match starts. Now, this is all good and dandy. But if you loo at traffic time and low number of players who are evaluated (you see residual pings on your router) you can only deduce that the algorithm is relaxed. For example, if kd was a metric then it would be impossible to find a match as there aren't enough players available in pool. My educated guess is that a sbmm is in place but due to a smaller player base it is falling back to random matching. Don't see how this can be fixed apart from improving game and getting more players. I guess that is expected when most of the development budget is being thrown o Eververse weekly refresh.

Pretty much, I don't know why you guys waste your time playing this. Is it a problem, yes Will they do anything about it, no Which means the Natural Choice is your own. Just stop playing

Изменено (AlieN_x_HuMaN): 11/12/2019 10:18:58 AMIt's back to D1 SBMM.. I also think it has a lot to do with Glory rank. I have a friend I play with a lot and he doesnt do a ton of crucible. When we team up he struggles to get over a 1kd, but solo he dominates his lobbies. So annoying. *the same would be true if I joined a player better than I..
-
Yep it happens to me a lot. Its frustrating. Im not even a pro player or anything. But losing a match because blueberries cant even make use of life advantage or dont how to play is just dumb. I just want to be match with people on my similar true skill or whatever and against people of my similar true skill. Whatever that is. I mean i think its something fair enough to ask.
-
I agree, but my experience is a little different. I'm definitely not a great crucible player but it is my favorite part of destiny. I always just try to stick with the team and try to back up the other players. Yesterday I was playing solo comp (my glory rank at the time was around 2800) and as we're flying in I check the roster and see there is a player whose current glory was 5400+, at first I'm thinking great, I'm about to get smacked, but this player actually ended up on MY team. I felt so bad for that guy to be that high rank and get put on my team. However, I just did my best to stick close to him and back him up and we ended up winning the match. Still I can't help but feel bad both for the higher rank players that get bad teammates and the lower rank players that go up against way better players. The whole system is wack right now.

SBMM is a turd. Flush it down the toilet.
-
SBMM always sucked. I do get the need for it though for some players but I would only use it in one or two playlists and not the majority.
-
Close games in comp are rare, only had probably 3 or 4 from 0 to 5500. Win or lose, it was a total blowout 95% of the time. Not sure if that’s SBMM but somethings definitely funky
-
How about find a fireteam? But with complaining like that, I'm pretty sure you can't find one that will tolerate it. Make a fireteam or take your chances with blueberries. No one told you to solo comp.
-
Get a team if you can't stand the dice roll.
-
Agree. Especially in solo playlist for survival this shouldn't be a thing. SBMM should be really easy for that.
