I haven't played Gear of War since Gears 2 (and not planning on playing this one), so I'm just going off the advertising that I've seen.
But doesn't it seem like some form of marketing desperation to include player skins from totally unrelated series and genres into their game.
There are 2 player skins for the T-101 Terminator and Sarah Connor, as well as Emile and Kat from Halo Reach available via preorder for the game.
Really?
Why?
Can the game not do enough sales on it's own merit that they feel the need to implement 2 characters for a movie plug (advertising I'm sure), and 2 dead characters from a 9 years old game into their multi player? It seems to make like the GoW characters do not carry enough weight with the series that they can easily be replaced.

Gears died after 3. They’re just milking it for the brand name now because they know it has a fan base to be exploited.

I see the Down Vote brigade / stalkers have spammed their hate. Good going guys! You're such a precious part of our community...... If you are doing this because you have a problem with me in general, man up and say so, or just mute me and save yourself some time.

I definitely felt that the whole skin thing was off, and I know the gears 4 and Judgement were kind off baaad, but I actually have heard that this game was doing a little more than the regular system and they were looking to make this one a little memorable. It is the second game by the new developers, afterall, and i've heard they're pouring a decent amount of heart into this one.

I mean they always put really unique characters in that stand out I mean I've played every single gears to date and I play the hell out of them if you haven't played in a while no offense you can't really give it a opinion like that and talk trash if you haven't even played in years plus gears is owned by Microsoft and they own halo that's why they're adding those characters in because they can do it without any legal trouble and they're adding in the other characters because 1 it's trendy and 2 the game has robots in it so it makes sense if you actually use your head I don't think you realize just how many die-hard fans bought that game I was one of said f ans

I feel that it is the case. What I don’t understand is the plot of these new gears. Apparently Gears 4 you play Marcus’s Son, and while I haven’t played it despite owning it, apparently the story wasn’t about him... I was wondering why Kate Diaz was the main character in Gears 5 and while looking it on why the change apparently Marcus‘s son was only a vessel to tell Kate’s story and connection to the Locust..... So why not make it about her from the start?

I don’t see why the skins are in the game but this gears ant too bad and free with game pass

Gears didn’t really have the staying power that Halo has. I don’t know that there’s many people who wanted a new game or even cared. There’s nothing about Gears that makes it stand out anymore.

Изменено (cRaZyT101): 9/9/2019 2:46:29 PMWith Halo Reach in testing flights for the MCC and for a PC port, its understandable that Reach characters are included. It's to drive up hype and anticipation for Reach's re-release. Get players familiar with Reach, since it is a 9 year old game.

The last gears was so forgettable. The gameplay and visuals are there but its like it lacks a soul. It gets so close to being interesting, but stops short. Could be franchise fatigue tbh. I wonder if cod players get/got this feeling?
