This is specifically for console, but the options for controller players are pretty bad.
I'm grateful for bumper jump, but I still want custom layouts for my buttons.
But the bigger issue is aim.
There's not even a seperate sensitivity for aim, only look, and even then the look sensitivity imo doesn't go high enough.
Regardless, people like different sensitivities for sprinting and hipfire vs ADS, especially on controller where aiming can get a bit unwieldy.
Beyond that there's actually a ton of options not available
● Vertical AND Horizontal sensitivity
● Aim Assist strength (know many people would prefer it to actually be REDUCED)
● Aim smoothing
● Aim momentum
● Dead Zones
Its honestly...Really really basic what Destiny has, and it makes it's kind of stiff and uncomfortable.
People get used it, but it's still not the way it really should be.
No reason to be held back by "making things too complicated", give us the keys to the castle so to speak, let us tune our options more.
Edit: For specific reference look at something like Overwatch. Even though that game isn't my thing at all now, the control options are incredibly flexible and I really enjoyed tuning them to be just right.

2019... still no dead zone options. It's sad really.
-
Agree, can’t ever find the right balance. Either the hip fire is too fast/sensitive or the ADS is slow beans.
-
Console hardware isn’t your friend. It’s always behind. Even when it’s “new” by the time it’s distributed it’s outdated. That and your stuck with that Console for 5+ years. Welcome to the life of Consoles.

This is becoming standard for most FPS games except for Destiny.
-
You're not getting it, it's bungie, minimum viable product across the board.
-
Very thoughtful, well-written post. And it's very true. Can't imagine Destiny 3 not shipping with a huge upgrade to flexibility with control settings and look options for console. Yeah, just being able to dial down a little bit the Aim Assist strength would make the game so much better.

I just want have different reticle colors. I have terrible eyesight and can't see the dot in the reticles so am slways having to guess on my snipes or long range shots in general.
-
use cross save -> go to pc (PC for D2 costs around 400 bucks MAX)
-
I would say to give the option to what aim assist does. On PC it gives a better bullet magnetism. But on console they make it stickiness. Which really sucks. They need to give both options on both PC and console. The sensitivity issue as well, look at other games like The Division 2, they give you great options.

Aim assist. Just have the option to turn it on or off. Trying to do cos raid yesterday and thrall jumping in front me. All of sudden my weapon goes completely to the right or left.
-
I'd like to be able to change crosshair colors. Even enabling the color blind assist on and I still can never see a lot of them.
-
Lol they use aim assist as a reason why we have terrible stability and recoil and bloom on console...so I don't think they'll be letting us change this stat any time soon.
-
I just want the opinion to turn off the cursor drag/slow down mechanism on console. Also (I'm not sure about xbox) you can customize you key binding in the accessibility Tab of settings on ps4. You can then add this option to your quick menu for easy activation.
-
This is why Traction is my favourite perk
-
You cant do anything about aim assist, some weapons just have more aim assist than others.
-
This^ I would also like settings for trigger and stick deadzones.
-
Cant you already map your own buttons on Xbox? Or is that a pro controller thing?
