TL;DR Can we get armor 2.0 ornaments from endgame content in year 1 & 2, please and thank you.
If armor 2.0 highlighted anything to me, it’s that moving forward our gear is slowly becoming outdated and outmatched by newer gear, yet the process for reacquiring older gear will become more tedious than ever come October.
You know what’s great? I had a lot of year 1 armor sets that I really enjoyed.
FWC’s default hunter gear with the Warmind FWC shader looked awesome, the Escalation Protocol gear looked great too, and Raid gear from both Normal Leviathan and Spire of Stars really tied together my endgame loadout. But I was fine with abandoning them because I still had access to them, and newer armor in Forsaken and beyond would likely fill my appetite whilst making sure I was doing new content and getting new benefits like perk rolls.
Shadowkeep’s armor is not good looking so far. But you know what’s worse? Going back into aaaaaalllll of those activities that I already spent months grinding to get specific gear that I want. Not for power, not for perks, but for vanity. And they’re not ornaments either, like everyone begged for. These are random stat-package 2.0 armor sets, exclusive to those activities. Same perks as year 2 mind you, but now with the old stats from D1.
Remember Factions and grinding out tokens by shooting micro-nukes in lost sectors for hours, or the fun and interactive Renown system? Remember Escalation Protocol, where everyone got to sit around and nuke adds for 30 mins until a big boss showed up? Remember the Prestige raids, where Bungie simultaneously created and abandoned the curated loadout feature after delaying prestige raid lairs for months on end?
You get to grind for it all again if you want 2.0 versions of those.
But don’t worry, if you’re a fan of the eververse, all of the seasonal armor has been ported over to year 3 and will likely be available for purchase from the convenience of your ship come Shadowkeep.
Cool.
Rant over.
Now on the feedback portion of this post. While the former half is rather sarcastic and condescending, the latter half is simplified as much as possible.
Allow for ornaments of endgame year 1 & 2 gear to be applied to armor 2.0 gear.
Escalation Protocol, Leviathan, Last Wish, all of it. If I had to repeat the activity ad-nauseam for a full set of armor, I want that as an ornament.
You entice the player with their choice of customization but limit it to microtransaction stuff from the past, and the feeling of freedom of appearance is gone.
Make your Eververse armor look better than it has in the past, and people will likely drop cash for it—but most people will still want to wear the gear they grew attached to, and much like Reckoning suffering from super-changes, re-acquiring old gear through the same outdated methods can and will become increasingly irritating.
You say that you look at feedback, so if this actually gets attention, people will expect a response as to whether or not it’s plausible. I hope you can at least deliver that.
Much (tough) love.

After seeing the element limitations I am definitely keeping some of my current Y1 armor. In the long haul which is Bungie's intention 2.0 is vastly more powerful however the limit is only going to extend the grind. Can't get rid of the iron banner armor that came with enhanced sniper rifle targeting. Enhanced perks will only be able to be found in pinnacle activities which all the more reason to hold on to sone of your good rolls.

Maybe you'll be able to get it out of collections? Exotics will come out of collections as 2.0, so I don't see why year 1 armor wouldn't. You couldn't get year two stuff out of collections because of random rolls, but armor 2.0 kind of negates random rolls, so maybe it'll be okay...?

Изменено (OdinsKnight101): 8/15/2019 5:28:21 AMI would like to add. Since we know that all armor will drop as 2.0 after ShadowKeep (mordor) and we know that it will not come with the season of opulence mod slot, will the rewards for completing the menagerie runs be useless? Since the armor won't have a slot for it but simultaneously has to reward a season of opulence mod, 1 time for each 3 powerful rewards. Anybody who joins in after Shadowkeep (mordor) would have zero use for them, since they will only have 2.0 armor. Also don't like how things like the Taken barrier mod and others like it will become ''useless?''. Guess we just have to hope on Artifacts for that and also hope they do something about the sorry state of ghost shells. They honestly suck in my opinion. Not in looks but functionality and I guess actually looks because the good ones look ugly..

1.0 armour will be superior in the early/mid game. You have to spend 4 masterwork cores to let a 2.0 have a 1.0 roll (level 8)
