The bad juju grind is God awful on its own but I get why Bungie did it the way they did it, for stupid streamers who don't use planetary mats and have a million of em.
However, after spending a week grinding for stuff, I learned I could've actually have gotten it day 1 with no issues with a cheese.
I am unabashedly, unashamedly saying that I would've taken that cheese all day.
I did a nightfall with full leviathan gear (armor anyway), and got 5%. That means 20 nightfalls for one tribute.
3% per strike, and the same for the others.
That is hundreds of events that I have to grind for a single damn gun.
I can pay for it with glimmer, except you need 20 days of completing 4 dailies (without dying) before you can even hope to afford it unless you've played 5000 hours in the game and have thousands of mats laying around.
If I had known I could get what is ultimately a fun but middle of the road exotic on day one with a little bit of patience, I would have, because the alternative (for non sweaties who don't play this game like a job) is weeks of grinding the same activities we've mostly had since day 1.
Not only that, but these are events we've been grinding for years, especially if you've been here since D1.
I've already done Leviathan raids (Leviathan and EOW) dozens of times with leviathan raid gear equipped. I've already done a metric ton of strikes and nightfalls. I've (unfortunately) been forced into this game's poisonous PvP hundreds of times for quests and daily/weekly engrams, suffering through while bad sports super you to death after the match is over and IT STILL SOMEHOW COUNTS TOWARD YOUR K/D. Full clans vs randoms, Luna Howl, all the horseshit this game had thrown at me and I've marched through hoping the good times will come eventually.
You know what sucks? Trying to bank 20 motes without dying while playing with a fire team full of people who also need to bank 20 motes without dying.
All while wearing or otherwise owning gear I've had since late 2017, early 2018.
And now I'm being asked to do it again for an unreasonable amount of time for a single damn gun (without the catalyst, which requires nearly 3 times as many tributes) while some people get to skip it because they found an easier and better way to do it?
Keep in mind we're doing all this for a gun many of us already freaking had in D1 and this grind is taking place 20 days during the summer. I'm 32 so that doesn't matter much to me, but I feel for the teenagers who get to waste their summer vacation on this nonsense.
I would've done the cheese if I'd known about it without blinking. "Real gamer blah blah" nonsense be damned. I'm not doing anything I haven't done before and I've no shit done everything Bungie wants me to do to get this gun already.
Soemtimes, I really hate this stupid game.
*edit*
You can tell in the comment section who plays this game for fun and who plays this game waaaaaay too often. Getting bad juju in 4 hours or a couple days tops? Ugh, the top 1%-ers are really annoying on this topic. We don't all have 100s of mats and max glimmer, nor have we all been grinding managerie like rabid hounds ya jerks!
*Final edit*
Omg the try hards have such a boner for words like "hard" and "fear". The quest not difficult and it's not fear of missing out. It's boring and irritating to earn tributes for crap you've already done before. How people keep getting irritation mixed up with difficulty is beyond me because those words don't even remotely mean the same thing. Literacy rates among some of you are surprisingly low. Also, if you have thousands of shards just sitting around, you are part of the 1%, you are not casual and you are not normal. Stop pretending like you are.
-
Imho the 18 tributes stuff was not that bad. Yes I had thousands of legendary shards, but I just came back after skipping season of the drifter... so I didn't really play THAT much. Now for the catalyst and for players who are having a tough time even getting to the weapon in the first place... it can be extremely frustrating to see people glitch their way to it. I myself refuse to buy my way further into the catalyst because I won't be able to get it without grinding my socks of for triumphs, which was completely fine if everyone had to do this. So if Bungie doesn't resolve the glitch issue, why should I have to spend my bright dust that becomes extra valuable in September lmao!? To see others snipe those nice finishing moves and emotes and ships from the store because they glitched their way to an exotic (That should be FREE content for all... however you turn it around, bright dust is and will be a premium currency) and I'm sitting there with too little bright dust to even grab me a ghost projection? I'll rather keep the weapon as it is now, my bright dust is mine xD

I stopped reading after “streamer bad”. Projecting much?

Изменено (ravenvelvet): 7/13/2019 8:55:37 PMQuite a long post to respond to but one thing does stand out and that's your rate of progression for Lavish Defender. I did it in Warden of Nothing with all opulent armour, austringer, epicurean and the bane of sorrow (void hmg from CoS). With this setup, I got 30-40% progress on each run and was done after the third nightfall. Your 5% per nightfall seems really out of whack. :-/

20 motes is easy. Grab 20 motes. Bank giant blocker . Done.

When I learned of the cheez I got so pissed off that I had spent so many resources and I am not even half way I quit. I am on strike I wont use the POS pulse rifle nor will I ever go after the rest of the catalyst! They can keep their crap that is so programmed for streamers!

Изменено (juaneeapplesauce): 7/13/2019 10:39:09 PMYou must be doing your math wrong or something because I only had to do 3 nightfalls and only like 5 strikes. Just run full leviathan, menagerie or CoS gear. Also I haven’t grinded for any materials (just glimmer) because spider sells materials. To me it seems like your mindlessly complaining. There’s plenty of solutions to the problems you’re having. Another thing, these tributes aren’t suppose to be completed in 3 days. Take your time because you have the time. The tribute hall isn’t an event, it’s a permanent addition to the game.
-
I also was not paying attention. again! and missed the chance to cheese. i found out right after i placed my 3rd tribute. I always intended to do just play and grind the 80% discount. I just had no idea I could have bypassed all this if only I had not placed that 1st tribute. ya stupid me eh?. not mad or anything. people should be able to play the game however they want. frankly I just try to play and have fun and whatever I get I get whereas finding new and effective glitches to exploit are what others like to do with their time. totally agree the obvious reason for all this is for the streamers.
-
I'm trying to spread this information around to others as best I can; Leviathan-themed Armour (even class items) awards the least amount of percentage towards triumphs. Weapons, especially exotic weapons (ACRIUS, Juju) give the most percentage towards triumps. A single 100k Nightfall gave me 50% on that same triumph you got 4% on.
-
I just got Bad Juju today doing he mission solo cause I don't like relying on people. I bought all of the tributes that I needed to through farming roughly 5 hours in the morning for the past few days. So no farming strikes or doing activities with calus themed gear. I would've gotten it quicker if I decided not to do the entire black armory subset of forge unlocking because I didn't play at all during that season. Farming comes down to two things, efficiency and skill. If you're skillful enough, you can speed through activities, even solo, so this increase efficiency as well. I barely had 200 max of any particular mat. I haven't even tried farming the mat on Titan yet and I only have 19 of them as an example.
-
I’m taking my time with it like I’m taking time getting Redrix Broardsword
-
Personally I thought the Bad JuJu grind wasn't anything long or hard at all. I got the gun after logging 6 hours and spending almost all of my materials, shards and glimmer. I can build everything back up and take my time for the catalyst and the exotic emote. With that all being said there are a few things that will be a pain for me mainly the triumphs for the raid because normally I am a solo or duo player but it just means I will have to suck it up and get a raid team together and finish these which will also help with other quests and things involving the raids that I need done. I also fully understand why people would cheese this and to be honest, (call me what you will) I would have cheesed it as well to get up to 50 lol
-
I totally agree, if I had only known. So now I'm just wasting my time... 9ho hum)
-
As much as I hate to say it, I agree. I’m a solo player - I simply don’t enjoy voice chat with strangers, and the few friends I have that play Destiny are grown-ass adults like me, which means it’s impossible to get more than two of us online at any given time. Point is, I just sunk hours - and all my stockpile of glimmer and materials - into the catalyst... only to figure out that, as far as I can tell, you can’t get the catalyst without Raid Triumphs or high scoring Nightfalls, otherwise known as ‘a solo player can’t get it at all’. So I just wasted all my time, more or less. Totally would have cheesed it.
-
Did it legit But would have cheesed came back do it over time anyway just to have the statues to kill :) Had my boy do it on his since he has limited time to play and use it playing not mindless grinding
-
Wow had no idea there was a glitch to get 50 tributes for free. I would have cheesed it myself. I guess that why it’s good to wait a few days before starting Exotic quests. I spent half my legendary shards, bright dust, and all my resources/glimmer several times over and I’m still weeks away from getting all the tributes
-
Изменено (Sivatrix): 7/14/2019 2:23:08 AMWait was the glitch patched?? Edit: nvm. I regret not knowing the glitch either smh

What?!!! Dammit!! That’s it, next time they do something like this, I’m looking to see if there’s a cheese for it. Lol

Изменено (AlieN_x_HuMaN): 7/14/2019 6:18:23 AMHere we go again with the people who think they know what theyre doing, and blame the
1%rs
because they cant figure out that the Spider sells materials... or that glimmer can be acquired through Spiders bounties. Or a couple forges.. I have a fam, a full time job, my mother is in town this weekend, and I have juju.. I have also solod the mission without dying, and done a few of the triumphs wearing the Leviathan armor. I truly dont know what you're complaining about, other than to think that you just dont know the most effective way of doing things in the game. And that is fine. Just dont hate on others because we do.. Oh and I didnt even use ANY materials to get the tributes. I dismantled everything I ever got from everpurse amd used shards and bright dust.

it took me 2 days to get and I didnt cheese it.

I expected to play with D1 bad juju once with the catalyst, but it’s still crap. All pinnacles are obtained using glitches or cheats. It’s so lame. No wonder so many >80k triumph players haven’t pre ordered fall yet.
-
wait, did they patch the cheese??
-
I guess someone read my post yesterday! lol Welcome to bungie. The same melody goes on since years. D2 is actually pinnacle!
-
It’s actually only 3 nightfalls if you get 100k So you don’t want to put the time in for a reward? Why are you playing destiny?
