Thoughts on Heroic Menagerie

I enjoyed the challenge, although the final fight is bordering on insane for the common player. Here are my initial thoughts: • Extinguish, it sucks when it happens and with the combination of internet problems and other modifiers, we started to 5 man each encounter with one man designated as our back up plan to hide, and run if need be, so we wouldn’t party wipe. • Void Singe, not the worst, but a lot of enemies can one-shot you, including the Cyclops (directly responsible for wiping our whole party at least once, and you thought NPCs couldn’t get We Ran Out of Medals medals, lol) and the final boss. • Blackout isn't really that big of an issue except in the riposte where you have to stand toe to toe with a knight with blackout active. Otherwise, with careful thought, you can manage it. • Iron is a special kind of hurt as it makes the encounters tougher for sure, but in the final fight it is a factor that drags on the final encounter when mixed with Blackout, Void Singe, and the encounter being 770. • As far as rewards, essentially after the first run it is only good for trying to get the swords or to gain 7 Masterwork cores as the item you get will most likely not be a keeper. • Essentially, my take on Heroic Menagerie is that it is fun, and frustrating at times, but maybe the combination of 3 negative modifiers and a final encounter 20 levels higher than a Power level that you can achieve is just a bit much for the reward. • Suggestions for improvement include having at least one positive modifier or lowering the level of the final encounter to 760 or 750 (everything combined makes it very difficult already without a 20-point increase in level) or offer better rewards after the first run through. Maybe you can further narrow down a better roll on an item you want by opening another rune slot so you know a weapon will roll with Outlaw, for example, …this could actually be a positive modifier, as in, all weapons that roll today will come with Outlaw if applicable. Share your thoughts…don’t be a dick.
